I really find the topics interesting but I loathe the chit chat. A little is fine but more detracts from the excellent content. I wish there was an abridged version so I could edit out the conversation and just get to the facts.

I bought a serger for $35 at a garage sale. I wasn't looking for one but for the price, why not? Could not get it to run. Called my cousin the serger expert and she had no luck. So down to my local quilt store and repair shop. At this point I was looking for another $100. But the repair person took pity on me. He said the serger had not been run in over a over a decade and the motor was frozen. Happily no charge from a small local business. It went to Goodwill. Never again.

I am totally blessed that I have not one but two thrift sewing stores near me. I have been going there when I really don't want to go to the bigger stores.
