Description

A "Sex And The City" podcast by two married guys, comedian Kevin McCaffrey and writer Jon Daly, who are watching the show for the very first time. Funny, revealing, often drunk, (arguably) sexy, and ready for the reboot on HBO Max: And Just Like That...
157 Episodes

We begin with some updates from Sex and the City / And Just Like That world: Karen Pittman aka Nya Wallace has joined Che in leaving the show before season 3, leaving us only a Seema & TLDR departure from forming a little show called "Sex and The City." We also talk about the media's weird obsession with Gen Z seeing SATC for the first time on Netflix before getting into: Girls season 2 Premiere! In this episode, Hannah begins by boning Donald Glover, and ends with a rough conversation with broken-legged sad Adam. Marnie goes from saging her house to rid it of Ray, to a Ray makeout sesh at a party. Marnie gets downsized finds herself in a low spot, a sex-with-a-gay-guy spot, and then a very familiar spot. Jessa shows up to be an a-hole for like two minutes, and boom, we're off and running with season 2. For EVERY episode of Girls, along with Discord access, monthly zoom hangs and MORE, join us at patreon.com/kevinandjon! In the meantime, every-other Girls ep will be dropping here on the main feed. Thanks everyone!
This is SO S.A.T.C., says our Shosh, as the gals go to a book release party for an annoying college friend played by Jenny Slate. Hannah’s writing rival is having success which drives her crazy enough so that she takes almost the literal first step towards being a writer, and goes to a reading held by her favorite college teacher (played by Michael Imperioli — the guest stars on this show, A+). Jessa gets herself read by Katherine, who tries unsuccessfully to re-hire her in spite of her pathetic husband, and Shosh signs up for online dating in a scene that had us wanting to see more — literally, anything more! In the end, we have a big selfish-off between Marnie and Hannah, where somehow, everyone manages to be more wrong than right. Thanks to our Patreon pals for keeping us going on Girls, and we’re continuing to drop every other episode on the main feed! To get ALL the Girls and over 100 other exclusive podcast episodes, join us over at patreon.com/KevinAndJon.
The massive controversy from this episode: was Shosh wearing pants as she ran around Bushwick…on crack?! The girls all head to the biggest warehouse party in Brooklyn, and this party? Has everything: a pack of lesbians, Charlie and Ray’s suddenly successful band, the world’s saddest husband trying to cheat on his wife with Jessa, a glass cigarette filled with crack for Shosh, Elijah kissing a boy, and Marnie’s best selfish meltdown yet after her ex suddenly gets smooched by a tiny Navajo. Also, Hannah is shaken to learn a huge thing about Adam’s life from a lesbian who tries to bite a bottlecap off a beer. Oh and did you know this episode is brought to you by a newly Writers Guild Award nominated co-host?! We talk some fun personal news at the top before getting into that sweet, sweet crackcident. Every other episode of our “Girls” journey will be on the “Sex and the Cidiots” feed, while the complete set will be available (and dropping early) on Patreon, at patreon.com/kevinandjon. Thanks friends!
Happy Valentine’s Day, lovers! We decided to do a classic romcom that *one* of us had never seen, and drop it as a romantic, holiday bonus. So here we are, with a movie that doesn’t work on paper, but big time works on the screen: a star-making turn by Julia Roberts who has “it” more than just about anyone has ever had, Richard Gere somehow making us like a 41 year old billionaire, Hector Elizondo being an all-time hotel daddy, Jason Alexander portraying the most punchable man of all time, Laura San Giacomo as a really fun bestie and PATRICK RICHWOOD as a scene stealing elevator man. Oh, and Garry Marshall with one of the most impossible directing assignments of all time, done perfectly. Folks? After 5 years, this is our longest single podcast episode of all time. We hope you enjoy it, and we love you for everything you’ve done for us. Happy Valentine’s Day. If you’d like Kevin & Jon in your life on the regular, year-round? Join patreon.com/kevinandjon.
In the aftermath of Hannah’s diary revelation, Marnie & Charlie break up…or at least Charlie attempts to. That leads to Marnie going to the apartment of her boyfriend for the very first time, somehow, and doing some bargaining. Hannah takes typically awful advice from Jessa to try to F her boss “for the story,” and fails, before dropping by Adam’s only to watch him go hogwild, solo. Jessa takes an ex back to her place for a romp to make a point, and Shosh accidentally catches her and some Brooklyn goofball goin’ at it pigeonstyle by the fire escape. ALSO: Jon authored a crossword puzzle for the LA Times, go check it out Thursday 2/8, online or pick up a copy!  Every other episode of our “Girls” journey will be on the “Sex and the Cidiots” feed, while the complete set will be available (and dropping early) on Patreon, at patreon.com/kevinandjon. Thanks friends!
After Hannah finds out she has HPV, she calls her ex-boyfriend Elijah (Andrew Rannells) who makes a tremendous debut, revealing secrets and throwing out dad-related accusations. Marnie flirts with the ridiculously named Booth Jonathan (Jorma Taccone), Shosh gets into a (great) show called “Baggage” and talks about her own emotional baggage with Hannah, and Jessa falls asleep on the job babysitting and wakes up in time to smoke weed with a dad. Every other episode of our “Girls” journey will be on the “Sex and the Cidiots” feed, while the complete set will be available (and dropping early) on Patreon, at patreon.com/kevinandjon. Well you’ve probably heard the news, or at least the rumor, innuendo, and vague-gramming: it appears Sara Ramirez and their iconic character of Che Diaz is leaving “And Just Like That.” Thankfully, since the show isn’t coming back until 2025, we all have time to process our grief. Kevin & Jon hop on the mics to talk about what we know so far about these reports, what Sara said, and what we’ll miss most about Che. Four women in NYC, trying to figure out life…we loved it the first time we did it, so why not why not try it again? EVERY episode on Patreon.com/kevinandjon, with every-other, alternating episodes here on the main feed! We begin as Hannah (Lena Dunham) learns mom and dad won’t be funding her NYC life anymore, sending her into a spiral. Marnie (Allison Williams) isn’t into her too-nice boyfriend, and gets annoyed when her welcome dinner for Jessa (Jemima Kirke) gets all opium’d up. Shosh (Zosia Mamet) is just happy to have a cool British friend, and does us the favor of calling out all the Sex and the City connections. Oh, and you see a butt. Thanks for all your support, friends! We’re excited to have a new show for y’all.
Oh hi, fellow Cidiots! While the only thing that makes this SATC branded is a brief, BLONDE Cynthia Nixon appearance, we thought it might be nice to drop a little bonus podcast for people on a week where so many of us have a lot of extra travel for Thanksgiving. This is also a little sample of what we're consistently doing on Patreon in between And Just Like That seasons -- we have 100 bonus podcasts on movies and TV shows over there if you'd like to join the fun. Thanksgiving doesn’t have a ton of great movies, Addams Family Values DOES have an iconic Thanksgiving scene, and a speech from the hero that is Wednesday Addams. It's one of the greatest-cast movies in the history of film, it’s perfectly acted, the writing is incredible, and even if we can’t figure out how much murder is actually happening/allowed, we loved it and hope you do too. Happy Thanksgiving, and if you like stuff like this, join us over at Patreon.com/KevinandJon!
Good news: this isn’t the end. We’re gonna have a season 3, but let’s sum up what happened at the end of season 2: SAMANTHA. More than we thought we’d get. A tremendously emotional Steve and Miranda scene. Then: the big dinner party. Nya getting some honor we’ve never heard of, having a sad moment, then a lot of funny/sexy stuff with Toussaint from earlier this season. LTW dealing with her miscarriage with grace and class. Che…DOES get one good joke in, so there’s a first for everything. Anthony lets down enough walls to keep his man, Charlotte gets an iPhone (we swear, that’s it for her and Harry), and Seema...is also there. She’s got tickets to Greece and five months to kill, we guess?! Carrie also looks amazing, and Aidan infuriates us in a way we never could have seen coming. 5 years?! NBD, sure pal.  BRING ON SEASON 3! Join us: patreon.com/kevinandjon Instagram: @sexandthecidiots
Well, we didn’t expect this today: And Just Like That has been renewed for a season 3. For us? We love it. The AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) are trying to keep this, and everything else creative, from ever happening again. But if those goons ever agree to anything close to reasonable working conditions for writers and actors, we’ll go to season 3 of ‘And Just Like That,’ and folks? We’re INTO it. This makes the finale much more interesting, and Kevin and Jon talk about what they now expect, what they hope to happen, and what we know so far, based on the announcments to the press. As we approach the Last Supper at Carrie’s old apartment, will it be OUR very last supper with this show, ever?! With Steve’s Coney Island happy ending and Carrie checking off items on her New York bucket list, it feels like we might be getting close to tying it all up. Charlotte gets loaded after work, Miranda witnesses Che’s Miranda-centric stand up set in Brooklyn, LTW faces the prospect of being a mother at an inconvenient stage of life (briefly), and a crisis at home for Aidan throws everything into question. FINALE NEXT WEEK, FOLKS! Carrie and Aidan are making big moves, to big places, with big baggage, and it feels like it could be the beginning of our ending. Miranda and Charlotte turn into kids again as they watch their kids start turning into adults, Nya throws herself into the world of Tinder until she gets a rude Instagram awakening, Seema straight up copy/pastes a Samantha storyline into hers, Che gets recognized (and a cat), Anthony takes it so slow he’s practically straight, and LTW has narcolepsy. And then, something else.  To get more movies & TV podcasts from Kevin and Jon during Sex and the City offseason, join the party on Patreon at patreon.com/kevinandjon and if you would be so kind, leave ya boiz a rating and a review!  Instagram: @sexandthecidiots Get 20% OFF @manscaped + Free Shipping with promo code CIDIOT at MANSCAPED.com! #ad #manscapedpod
In this (pretty good!) episode, Carrie decides Mr. Big was the wrong way to go, it should have been Aidan forever, they have a sexy hotel week, and Aidan is very funny in how he tells a neighbor who they are. Miranda goes back to the internship she ditched, Charlotte has a very relatable struggle with her body until she finds out someone is heavier than her and suddenly feels better again, and Seema takes selfishness to new levels...but if you feel differently, we'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts! It's February 14, which you might not even understand or have heard of if you're a BOY! We've got Anthony on Drew Barrymore's morning show, a poet with a big ol' baguette, Miranda back on the dating scene with a voice actress, Charlotte on brownies, Rock as America's Top Model, Nya with a soufflé, LTW cockblockin' at 100%, and everyone yelling at receptionists and thinking they're the good guy for doing so. And what else...oh yeah! Aidan and Carrie agree to meet up, after 10 years (or 13) went by in a snap. This episode had a lot that felt like old Sex and the City! That’s a good thing. Charlotte walks the walk as sex-positive mom, Carrie goes to Widowpalooza, Miranda has all the spooning and all the breakups, and there’s a great (night) brunch scene about keeping in touch with exes. Which leads to, of course…an email to the #1 ex. The first Halloween episode in Sex and the City history? We’ll take it, even if LTW and Nya were the only ones to put on an actual cosutme. Carrie blocks a bike, is relieved when the guy turns out to be rich (read: dateable), then dumps him when he works two days in a row. Charlotte & Harry do a great couples costume then deal with Rock getting a modeling offer. Seema goes full Seemantha with a storyline that probably was literally written 20 years ago for our Liverpool Cleopatra instead, and Che watches a focus group say everything people online have been saying for a year. Call Zuckerberg, because this is META, baby! Guess what? We loved this. A good, old school Sex and the City episode with wacky stuff going on, goofy sexy laughs and as a bonus, a pile of guest stars. Candy Berg, Billy D, Victor Garber, Gloria Steinem, oh my! There are empty climaxes (Charlotte/Harry), a pair of terrible parents (LTW & MR LTW), a return to a more realistic, non-sociopathic human form (Miranda), and…a kind of disappointing professional reunion (Carrie & Candy Berg). But this ep was FUN, and had the best brunch in a decade.  To get more movies & TV podcasts from Kevin and Jon during Sex and the City offseason, join the party on Patreon at patreon.com/kevinandjon and if you would be so kind, leave ya boiz a rating and a review!  Get 20% OFF @manscaped + Free Shipping with promo code CIDIOT at MANSCAPED.com! #ad #manscapedpod
Two things off the top, fair warning: 1) audio a little different from normal, apologies, and 2) this is our least favorite episode in the entire damn series…so far. Carrie struggles while recording her audiobook, and there are some nice, genuine thoughts about grief — mainly from Bitsy Von Muffling. LTW and Charlotte make the Milf list (cool) then get horny for a high schooler (actually illegal, indefensible???). Thieves run wild in a Fox News version of NYC, robbing Seema and Lisette, and Miranda completes her transition into the Queen of Karens and ruins a sitcom taping with no remorse. Good Lord, it has to get better than this! Carrie does NOT want to say the V-word, and she enlists her F-buddy to avoid the V-word in several writing sessions. Miranda hits AA and loses her phone on the beach and meets Che’s husband (for real), Charlotte becomes furious at her daughter for selling dresses to pursue her art, Seema is the queen of red flags, LTW welcomes the world’s most annoying mother in law, and Nya continues doing great work while never getting to do a scene with another real life human being. Instagram: @sexandthecidiots
