Description

‘Shaping A Fairer World with SDGs’ is the platform to join the dots of the SDGs around the Education world. No education is ever achieved unless we connect Educators, Students, and Parents together. It’s an attempt to share the voices and unheard stories across the globe. I believe that “Nothing can stand in the way of the power of voices calling for CHANGE”

Bruce Ferguson has a unique point of reference having grown up in northern India for 10 years in the 1960s. He then returned in 2005 to spend the next 15 years in voluntary service to work on raising educational standards and human rights education and awareness of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through all of South Asia. He still helps various projects and mentors selected youth-run programs. Bruce is passionate and involved in addressing problems of inadequate education, educational reform, and human trafficking and address these through raising funding for allied groups making a change. He founded Reform Through Education (formerly FHFI) (www.ReformThroughEducation.org) in 2010 to forward this purpose. Reform Through Education is the new name for what he started a few years ago. Every problem in the world can be solved through education. It is the quality and availability that education which defines the outcome. There must be a basic level of "human understanding" which we find is achieved through human rights education through the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. And, education itself must deliver an outcome of the student being able to use and apply that which he or she was taught. These initiatives though simple, can themselves make the changes we wish to see in this world. Join him on this journey! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shapingafairerworld/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shapingafairerworld/support

Students of PYP 3, from Pathways World School, Aravali have been Risk-takers and tried their hands at new means of technology to record their learning and understanding for the Unit of Inquiry on Nutrition through a Podcast. One of the most interesting and valuable uses of the process was the concept of student-created content. Our Podcast included questions and discussions which promoted the agency. This allowed students to take control of their learning and, therefore, encouraging engagement. They could question, they could contribute and they could teach and learn from each other. They were assisted by me, Supriyaa Narula, and my Co tutor, Pravleen Gulati. We both love what we do, our students, and finding new and exciting ways to engage everyone in class. It was a great learning experience for all of us. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shapingafairerworld/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shapingafairerworld/support
