ER nurse, retired, taught as a substitute teacher a few years but quit bc too hard. A had to rewind twice to absorb that. Teaching is harder than being an ER nurse. Could we misserve our teachers and students more if we tried?
I LOVE audiobooks! I also think that it doesn't detract from the "reading" experience. As an avid reader wirh very little time, I like that I can download an audiobook from my library to listen to while driving or doing other mundane chores. I do also read paper books, but audiobooks are great, especially when the narrator is also really good.
I think we'd all be more okay with the Christian rebrand if Christianity was looked at like mythology. I know the Romans basically just slapped new names on the Greek religion, but I don't know anyone who has told me I am going to suffer in flames for all eternity because I don't believe in jupiter. I have been told that many times by believers of the Jesus myth.
I know they try to stay kid friendly, but I think head cheese has another meaning.
so Travis is 5'10" huh.
"camping is like exercise" Except that exercise is necessary for good health and camping is not...
cursive is a dead language.
if Travis heart grows anymore I think it will through off the earths rotation/revolution about the sun.
Did Travis just reference Moses like he was a historical figure?
listening to this one in 2020 is.... A little rough.
So interesting to listen to in a post Covid world.

33:00 grill master, grill meister, duke (or duchess) of grillington, the boss, spatula swashbuckler, flip wizard (yes this is a taz reference), master of ceremonies, head chef, the anchor, etc.
Yeah, a tiki party is not representative of Polynesian culture. Do you think Ireland is constant drinking, shamrocks, and leprechaun s? Well maybe the drinking, but mostly not.
in case anyone here reads this and wants to know a bit more about the history of proms and especially the fashion, dressed did a wonderful podcast episode about it not too long ago 💖
