From The Rebbe’s Father זצ״ל Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh - *מר דרור* 30:23 Talmud CHULIN 139b *From where in the Torah can one find an allusion to Mordecai?* *He replied:* *As it is written with regard to the anointing oil in the Tabernacle*: “*And you shall also take the chief spices, of flowing myrrh [מר דרור]* (Exodus 30:23); and we translate mor deror into Aramaic as:, *מירא דכיא* which resembles the name Mordecai *מרדכי*. Questions; A) Why is the name hinted in the *Targum*? And not in the Posuk. B) The letters of the name *מדרכי* are not all the letters of מירא דכיא? C) What is the connection of *מר דרור* & *מירא דכיא* To Purim? מאביו של הרבי זצ״ל כי תשא וְאַתָּה קַח לְךָ בְּשָׂמִים רֹאשׁ *מָר דְּרוֹר* חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת (ל, כג) גמרא חולין קלט, ב *מרדכי מן התורה מנין דכתיב מר דרור ומתרגמינן מירא דכיא* שאלות; א) למה נרמז שם מרדכי *בתרגום* דוקא? ב) מהו הקשר לפורים תיבות *מירא דכיא*? ג) התרגום הוא אותיות *מירא דכיא*, ובפועל השם *מרדכי* הוא רק האותיות *מ*- *ר*-*ד*-*כ*-*י*, ונחסר כמה אותיות *יאא* , מהו הטעם שלקחו להשם רק אותיות *מרדכי*? ד) מה הקשר ״מר *דרור* לחג הפורים? לקוטי לוי יצחק, לקוטים על פסוקי תנ״ך ומאחז״ל ע׳ צט ילקוט לוי יצחק על מגילת אסתר/פורים סימן יז (שיופיע בקרוב בעזרת ה׳ ע״י הוצאת קה״ת)
