God's voice is the only truth we should be listening to. God's word is the only reading we should do.
Each new year brings new hopes, dreams, and expectations. We begin our Janurarys off wondering how this year will turn out, hoping it will be better than the last. We go headstrong into the new year making plans and setting goals. Like most years they start out steady, only until we hit the first few bumps, then we start losing hope. We have no guarantee for what one year will be. How can we hold on to that hope that the year will be good? How will you live in 2021 what will keep that faith and hope alive all year long?
Pastor Harris continues our series in the book of Nehemiah, "Building a Community of Faith". What Part are you playing in building this community? He's looking for people who are willing, who will partner together with God, and who will get the job done! Here am I, Lord...send me; use me to build whatever part of the wall you need me to build.
Guest Speaker Pastor and Superintendent Don James

Have you ever longed for something new? We refer to Christmas as a season, when in reality it's really only a single day. Each year we tend to put more pressure on what Christmas is. We have forgotten that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Messiah. Luke 2:22-38 we read that when Jesus was born there were two people who automatically recognized Him as our Messiah. They were longing for Him to appear, they were looking for Him, preparing for His arrival. They knew the importance of what the Messiah would do. God had promised us a new Christmas let us remember him each Christmas.
Life is Filled with the Unexpected, it can be scary even if we plan for everything. More times than not things go wrong. Walking with God we are affirmed in the fact that God is Faithful to His People in the Midst of the Unexpected, Nothing Is Unexpected to God he knows all the plans for us we should trust in him. Let’s trust God with our lives in the midst of the unexpected!
Are you ever feeling inconvenienced? Christmas is filled with all kinds of inconveniences, for 4 weeks out of the year we are running around trying to make things perfect. Shopping for gifts, baking all our favorite treats, planning family dinners, stopping to decorate for the holiday. By the time the holidays are over, we feel rundown and tired. Christmas isn't always convenient, and yet each year we only try to top the year before. When we think about Christmas we sometimes forget through all the presents and treats that Jesus came during this time, and with him brought a lot of inconveniences. Though the birth of Jesus turned Mary and Josephs's lives upsidedown, The benefits and blessings of Jesus’ coming far outweigh any inconvenience.
Are you always trying to plan the perfect Christmas but find yourself disappointed year after year? What is the trouble with Christmas? Each year we are striving the create the perfect Christmas and we are often left feeling depressed, let down by our plan of what we think a perfect Christmas is. The reality of Christmas is that so many find themselves alone, there's no money for gifts, no time for family, we so often dream of a perfect Christmas only to find ourselves in trouble. This year especially we are all going to be asking: what will Christmas be like in 2020? Most times it seems people forget the true meaning of December 25th, and that on Christmas day our Savior was born. We often forget that Jesus was born into a world of trouble, and still even born into trouble no one could stop the plan of GOD. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This Christmas season let's remember what we should be celebrating, and let's trust God with our lives even in the midst of trouble.
