Today marks the merger of "The Bible Study Podcast" and "Simple Christianity" YouTube channel! So for followers of the podcast, today is episode 60! And for those following the YouTube channel, we continue on with episode 8. I would strongly encourage both audiences to check out the previous episodes. Especially those from our YouTube channel. Clearly there's a lot to dig into given we are now 60 episodes in. Today's episode begins our chronological study of the Bible, beginning (obviously) with Genesis chapter 1. We'll continue on this course for the time being. Once we finish chapter 11, we will move over to Job. For those who have never read/listened to the Bible in this order, I would encourage you all to look up a chronological Bible. If you've never gone thru the Bible in that order before, I encourage it as it might help to reveal things you've not noticed before. For the questions surrounding verses 5, 8, 13, 19, 23, and 31, I referenced a website (gracethrufaith.com) and specific article. Going forward I will do a better job of summarizing answers found in a source like that so the video has a little more substance than what you got today. So apologies to you all. Check out this article for the answer to the questions I posed: gracethrufaith.com/topical-studies/the-bibles-authority/and-there-was-evening-and-there-was-morning/. For the questions surrounding verse 26, I referenced gotquestions.org who had a thorough answer to the question of the meaning of "the image of God". Check that answer out here: gotquestions.org/God-plural.html See you guys in the next episode! God bless all.
In today's episode we cover our final world religion and conclude this series. This episode is to cover modern Judaism and provide a brief overview of some of the various directions it's taken up to today. Our next episode will be our official launch and merger of the Simple Christianity YouTube channel and our existing show here "The Bible Study Podcast"!! Stay safe and enjoy your new year everyone! God bless
This episode is a little longer than the more recent ones, mostly because I found so much about this religion that paralleled with the Christian faith. It was easy to find concepts that paired with us and I found it a fun one to dig into… Enjoy our dive into Sikhism!
In today’s episode we do a brief overview of the Taoist/Daoist faith/religious philosophy. We’re nearly done with our survey of world religions! Two more to go!Enjoy!
In today’s episode we do a brief overview of Shintoism. A religion primarily followed by those living in Japan, around 2/3’s of the world’s adherents to this faith live in the “Land of the Rising Sun”. Let’s have fun diving in!Enjoy!
In today’s episode we do an overview of the Buddhist faith! It’s our shortest one yet, but there’s so much more that we could have gotten into. I definitely would encourage further study if you’re interested!Email me at thebiblestudypodcast@yahoo.com for any questions or comments. Enjoy!
A quick update from me and a potential glimpse into the future of the show… depending on what I decide to do of course! 😊Link to the YouTube show I referenced:https://youtube.com/@simplechristianity1397?si=oNdBL20g3DJlsRePEmail: thebiblestudypodcast@yahoo.comPlease don’t try to email simplechristianity@yahoo.com! That email either doesn’t exist or at least, won’t connect you to me! That was a verbal blunder on my part and the lack of recording and editing options, now that I’m on Spotify, make editing that impossible. 😊 Technology can be wonderful sometimes… Sometimes…Till next time!
I advise caution before listening to this episode. This show deals in graphic details of serious addiction and how to overcome. This episode is going to be far more suitable for men than women. And children under 18 should seek to have an open discussion about the contents of this show with a believing parent or a Christian mentor in their life.
In today’s episode we cover the basics of Hinduism so you the believer are equipped to minister to them and share the hope found in Jesus with them. It’s a long one! Hinduism is VERY different from Christianity so there’s a lot to cover. Hope you enjoy!
In today’s episode we discuss some of the basic points of Islam and what Muslims believe and also discuss some potential evangelism strategies to use with the Muslims in your life. And if you don’t know any personally, I would encourage you to try to make a Muslim friend so you can share the love of Christ with them. Enjoy!!!
I was asked to share about the true meaning of Christmas to my campus recently but because my wife, kids, and I all caught COVID I was not able to share with them. So instead I figured I would share what I intended to here. I hope it blesses you and that it is impactful to anyone you might be prompted to share it with.
Nothing groundbreaking today. Just a simple exhortation about being thankful. No matter your circumstances, there is always something to be thankful for. Enjoy!
Today I share some additional words that the Lord shared with me over the encounter retreat I came back from. What the Lord showed me had major transformational affects on me and I hope you get the same out of it. I apologize in advance if you can hear some background noise. Just focus on the hopefully good word you’re about to hear! :) Enjoy!
Today I describe my recent encounter retreat experience. I received a lot from the Lord this weekend and want to share with you what He spoke to me. What He imparted to me was extremely impactful and I know that something of what He shared with me will bless you also. Enjoy!
In the final part of this 3 part series we cover the mountain of historical evidence that reinforces and confirms the life and ministry of Jesus, as well as the reliability of the New Testament documents. Share with a friend as I believe this contains some of the strongest evidence pointing people to Jesus! PS please excuse a few moments where I may have been a little distracted or repeating myself. Between kiddos and incoming text messages, my focus was broken a few times but I try to get myself back on track as quickly as possible each time. Enjoy!!
In today’s episode I share the philosophical arguments for the existence of God. As with the last episode, these are notes I used when evangelizing in the city of Oberlin, OH. This episode will mostly focus on the philosophical arguments for the necessity of God, but will also include scientific, historical, and comparative religion arguments for the reason to believe in Jesus. Share with a friend! Enjoy!
Today I dive into one of my favorite things to do and explain the great reasons we have for belief in God. If you’ve ever thought that “science” was this looming monster in the closet that Christians should fear, then let me encourage you, that science (devoid of the bad inferences that unbelievers try to throw in) actually overwhelmingly points to the existence of a creator. And in part 1 of a 3 part apologetic series, I will begin to make the case why you should believe in God and specifically, in Jesus. Enjoy!!
Today we have an exciting message from a good friend of mine about what you’re building in your life! Enjoy! I know it’s going to bless you.
Today I share a message about the God that we serve. If you’re in need of inspiration about the goodness, greatness, or magnificence of our Lord, then you’re definitely going to enjoy this message!

You don't have to be a "liberal feminist" to find those verses hurtful, particularly when Christian men smugly use them to make women shut up about important issues. Nor are women more emotionally sensitive in nature. Many men are more emotionally intelligent and many women don't feel their feelings much at all. We are not that different (unless you're admitting women are typically more rational and wise, which I wouldn't deny lol). But more to the point, you are only using verses from modern bibles. older ones like KJ do not say God hates divorce, but rather He hates when someone divorces unfairly (ie they're bored, want to be with their secret lover, regret having kids, etc). There is no reason why God would be pleased to see His children suffer dutifully in a loveless marriage or with any spouse who mistreats them at all. Love is our greatest commandment, not struggle love, not duty love, not abusive love. Not valuing marriage enough is not nearly as big an issue as teaching people
