Hi! It's been a while but I finally found time to create another episode. This episode I'll update you on what I've been up too. Also, Fantasy Selves! We all have a fantasy for ourselves and sometimes items to go along with those dreams. Mine is arts and crafts.... I'm just not a crafty person and having craft supplies doesn't bring me closer to wanting to freely complete craft projects. And you know what? That is okay! I'm letting it go so I can do the things I truly want to do!
You might say that the mess in your home is not a distraction or simply not even a mess but "Life", and therefore you can't get rid of it.My question for you:Does this "life" help or inhibit you from living the life you want to live?

I HATE Cleaning

I HATE Cleaning

2021-02-0809:144

Basically, if you hate cleaning, you need to declutter. The less stuff you have, the less stuff you'll need to clean.
In this episode, I give 10 ideas of where to take the stuff you've chosen to declutter. But remember, it doesn't really matter where it goes as long as it makes its way out of the house!
In 4 months we went from having just what fit into our small car to having a whole house full of stuff! We accumulated stuff fast and in this episode, I go into detail on how to avoid accumulating excess and how to become gatekeepers to your home.Challenge:Consider joining Buy Nothing groups to give stuff away, unsubscribe from store emails, and use what you currently own in your home.
In this episode, we look at:"Super Market Sweep" technique to quickly start decluttering"I'm Moving" technique to efficiently declutter at an extreme level. This episodes challenge:Set a timer for one minute and, using the "Super Market Sweep" technique, quickly scan the items where you are and find one thing to declutter.
Simply put, minimalism is the act of living with less in order to enjoy life more fully. After considering your own values and dreams for the future, what is your definition of minimalism?
Imagine living everyday with a never ending to do list... Can you imagine having your feelings, energy levels, and actions be controlled by ... Your STUFF?That's what it felt like before I decluttered, before minimalism. Now, I live a happy, energy filled life with less stress and more purpose.I challenge you to imagine living in a stress free home where there are fewer choices and therefore more opportunity and time to live your life to its fullest. And most importantly, enjoy your family to its fullest. What are the positives and negatives (yes, it's important to look at both sides) and let me know what you discover. If you find that decluttering and minimalism may benefit you, Start decluttering!
Thank you so much for listening! I have gained so much motivation to keep going and to keep making episodes because of all the support and listeners that keep coming back.I want you guys to share your accomplishments so YOU can gain motivation to keep going too! Share what you've done and what you are proud of and inspire those around you to declutter as well! Keep going, guys! You are awesome!

It felt good today to empty a box. not just any box, but a big Christmas box that my dad built before I was born. My mom died 10 years ago and this year I felt I could part from the ornaments that must have meant something to her. She collected Hallmarks every year and other little cute ornaments. I couldn't bear to get rid of them. Today, I could. I went through the box with the help of my daughter. We looked at each piece and decided if it was important to us or not. I now have a half full garbage bag of Goodwill items and a garbage bags half full of old meaningless and broken items. It felt good to have an empty box. It turned out I needed only about a dozen of those old ornaments. I am happy with that. It brought pleasure to both of us to see the things in the box and to be able to say, someone else might like this or that. Thanks for the little push it took to get that done.

This is really an eye opener for those who don't really understand what is going on around them. Things do cause internal reactions.
