In this episode, we sit down for an honest, creative, and soul-stirring conversation with SHALdo. I loved this because chats with fam sit different. You wanna listen to this talk, about honesty, courage, and finding belonging through creativity. We teeter on the edge of the sacred and the scandalous, or is there even a sacred and a secular divide? That bus ride from Harare to Cape Town that we are never doing again plus shared meals, performances, and the kind of conversations that shape you. He is a  Writer Storyteller Creative & Warrior-poet but He says bios are boring so I will stop here.GET in touch with me:• Peggie on Instagram  @ps_umindhttps://www.instagram.com/ps_umind• Follow the Podcast on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ssitwithu Link-tree:https://linktr.ee/peggieshangwahttps://linktr.ee/pagepoetryaliveBuy me a Coffee or Rooibos, Support the podcast and donate via https://ko-fi.com/sitwithuAdvertising Inquiries: info.pagepoetryalive@gmail.comListen to it on: Apple, Spotify, Amazon, Google Podcasts & more today. If you want to be a part of "On the Mic" as a poet " or have a "Sit with U" story, email your audio submissions to peggieshangwa@gmail.comMake sure to LIKE, SHARE and REVIEW Us!

I had so many coloured friends growing up and now I have family across races. Sitting down with Patrick Miller to talk about race, trauma, and vulnerability was so fun—but it also made me a little upset as Patrick shared about growing up in Zimbabwe and the many stereotypes around being coloured. Listen in for more.”Patrick Miller is a Zimbabwean playwright, public advocacy consultant, researcher, gamer, and writer. His areas of expertise include research, sociology, cultural studies, project design, communication, facilitation, community mobilisation, performing arts, creative writing, writing as therapy, advocacy, and activism. He is passionate about creating and curating cross-cultural cooperation and understanding.
What does every woman in her 30s need to know about fertility, health, and wellness—IVF, early menopause, and fertility goals? As a continuation of the episode with Rumbidzai Phiri, Umind?! sits down with Dr. Nyarai Paweni, a naturopathic physician passionate about empowering people on their journey to vibrant health—body, mind, and spirit. In this Part 2 conversation, we dive into real-life issues affecting women, including fertility, IVF, and the challenges of navigating health in your 30s. The discussion is honest, personal, and deep.Listen in to discover what every woman in her 30s should know about staying healthy.
Umind?! responds to a conversation started by Ruvheneko a few weeks ago, when she shared her good news about her journey to motherhood and posed valid questions to thirty-something young women out there. As a thirty-something young woman hosting a podcast that focuses on Society and Culture—with an intentional lens on real-life issues that are often hard and difficult—Umind?! felt it was both key and timely to address the questions raised in that clip.Having guest Rumbidzai Chikapa Phiri—a Social Entrepreneur, HR Systems Developer, and Pastoral Leader—was an added advantage, ensuring a safe space for honest and meaningful conversation.Join us as we dive into this current topic, asking and discussing questions with the hope that truth can be found and walked out, while ensuring that the valid questions raised are given room to be explored and, where possible, answered.
In this first episode, Umind?! explores imposter syndrome, firsts, and the fears that come with starting something new.Listen in as Cynthia Chirinda—Author, Life Coach, Strategist, and Pastor - shares insights on the power of our emotions and how fear, when understood, can sometimes work to our advantage.
I thoroughly enjoyed talking with Author, Speaker, Revivalist, and joy enthusiast Shelter Musavengana about all things—her new book, her passion for Jesus, her love of tea and the childhood escapades surrounding it, and the joys of being “zapped" by the Holy spirit. We’re already planning a second sit-down to dive deeper into her book, so stay tuned, because you don’t want to miss it. Shelter Musavengana is a Zimbabwean-born “Kingdom citizen,” a licensed minister under Bethel Church in Redding, California, and the founder of One King Global, a ministry dedicated to making Jesus known. She is a devoted follower of Christ, a speaker, itinerant minister, worshipper, and writing consultant with a Master’s in Creative Writing.A graduate of the Every Nation Leadership Institute (now Every Nation Bible School) in Windhoek, Namibia, and the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, CA, where she remains actively plugged in, Shelter lives to see people’s lives collide with the love, power, and presence of God.Connect with UsFollow Peggie on Instagram: @ps_umindFollow Shelter: @shelter.k.musavenganaFollow the Podcast: @ssitwithuExplore More:Peggie’s LinktreePage Poetry Alive☕ Support the Podcast: Buy me a Coffee or RooibosAdvertising Inquiries: info.pagepoetryalive@gmail.com🎧 Listen On: Apple, Spotify, Amazon, Google Podcasts & moreWant to be featured?Share your poetry for Sit With U Mic DropSend a story for Thought with UEmail audio submissions to: peggieshangwa@gmail.com💛 Don’t forget to Like, Share & Review the podcast!

I had a great time catching up with Kuda Rice in this fun and insightful episode. Titled after his first EP this is an ode to young Kuda Rice as a testament that life is not always what we see in the now. Kuda Rice is a Zimbabwean writer, storyteller and performance artist. His storytelling is mainly portrayed through poetry and spoken word which has also transformed to not only be expressed through words, but also through visuals and fashion. At his core is the need to tell his inner truths and experiences as well as external truths and other people’s experiences of the different spheres of life.We dove into his journey growing up, explored the twists and turns of his creative path, and unpacked what truly sets him apart as a young creative. From honest reflections to moments of vulnerability and lighthearted moments, this conversation reveals what makes Kuda so relatable and why so many people find it easy to connect with Kuda. This episode plunges into the dark alleys of unimaginable stories, getting to the heart of those shocking adventures I have had and never thought I would survive. When life throws me into the deep end, simply assuming I'll swim—when it's truly sink or swim—this is about that desperate floundering, arms and legs thrashing in all directions, no strategy, just pure survival instinct! The juxtaposition of real life stories of danger, laughter and the drama that unknown fears introduce to the script of my life. Highlighting why it’s important to never go it alone but rather go with a friend who is closer than a brother.
If you are a keen and curious mind like me you will enjoy this! In this episode I dive into a fascinating topic for me : Passover and Easter.I talk about one of the most popular and meaningful Jewish holidays, Passover and Easter the same for Christians. This year these events coincide!Although, Passover and Easter couldn’t be more different from each other in the foods, rituals, and traditions that surround each holiday. But, surprisingly, the seasonal overlap between these two holidays is no accident. Unlike the overlap between Hanukkah and Christmas, which is basically coincidental, Passover and Easter are intimately linked. This episode is a passionate talk around conversations I have been having in the last week. I visited the historic Cape Coast Slave Castle and had the remarkable Justice K. Acquah as our tour guide. He absolutely does Justice to the tour and his passion is undeniable. He has been a tour guide at the Cape Coast for over a decade and some. This experience was very evocative for me, I found myself teetering between weeping, a feeling of asphyxiation and nausea at some point at the gruesome reality of what took place here. I share this talk because by the time we left I was able to see what lessons to take from the time we spent in the castle and I hope you will be provoked into some hard questions and conversations. The building struck me as a little girl trying to keep up appearances, its whitewashed exterior a facade of innocence. As I entered, the stark contrast between light and dark hit me with visceral force. The male slave dungeon, hidden beneath the pristine surface, was oppressively heavy, shrouded in darkness, and claustrophobically confining. The juxtaposition of the building's outward purity and its grim interior deeply haunting. I had the joy of being on Star FM, one of Zimbabwe’s national radio stations, where we spoke about being unequally yoked in 21st-century dating on the show Faith On Trial! After the interview, so many people asked about this episode—and the Faith On Trial hosts at Star FM graciously agreed to let me share this excerpt. Yay!In this episode, I sit down with ET (Ephraim Tagu), Pastor Presley Nyenya, Thobekile Sibanda, and Sakhile—with a special shout-out to Steve Vickers in absentia.Instagram: @ps_umindPodcast Instagram: @ssitwithuLinktree – Peggie ShangwaLinktree – Page Poetry AliveSupport the podcast: Patreon – Umind Advertising inquiries: info.pagepoetryalive@gmail.comMerch: umind.co.za@gmail.comListen to Sit With U across platforms—now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Amazon, RadioPublic, and more.Want to be part of Sit With U Mic Drop as a poet, or share a Thought with U story? I know for most when we talk about #Mission24/7 most people think its escapist and for lazy folks who have not got anything else to do but Mayn let me walk you into some truth in this episode. Missions is not only for super-Christians, you can be on mission everyday from where you are. Missionaries are not glorified tourists living an easy travel life. You can lose your life on these streets. Its a life and death issue. In this episode Umind?! walks through the issues to do with Missions and field work and talks about a trip where she could have died. One of those conversations that are meaningful in more ways than one because they are real, raw and authentic. Join Gracia and I in a conversation we tried to have in Uganda, failed dismally, nothing seemed to align for us in 2022 so to be able to finally do this was such a win for us both. When you listen to this episode you pick up why Gracia is a Storyteller and why she is the depiction of the term deep. She feels acutely and some of these emotions end up hanging out on pages and lounging in meaning in songs as she weaves stories that give a generation language for expressing pain that can’t be interpreted easily. Gracia Nicholls is a storyteller, who has graced national and over 10 international stages as a performer, poet and speaker. She is the founder of Bly Staan , a brand that seeks to inspire and encourage people. Her passion for social transformation using the arts has her working for NPO South Roots international and serving as a mentor and performer for ATKV-CRESCENDO. You can find her Spoken word across platforms. Gracia PERFORMS a Spoken word piece in the middle of this Sit down. https://open.spotify.com/track/5G47ldU9F6xrk6HecgSSDS?si=jI3jBBNXSX2B1CbW_2u6Wg
