Description

Every mistake is an opportunity to learn. Even those whack exes and lame situationships you endured.

Situationships Podcast is a space for black millennials to have honest conversations about the mistakes we're all making in dating.

Join me, Randi, as I talk with black millennials about the dating lessons they’ve learned and the mistakes they never want to make again.

Black folks often have an intimate yet complicated relationship with our hair. From sitting through burning relaxers trying to get bone straight hair, to learning to rock a TWA because you just couldn’t wait any longer to go natural, to slathering on castor oil and praying your hair edges come back -- we have endless experiences with our hair. Some experiences are empowering, others may be painful. We also understand that society has a lot to say about our hair. Navigating the expectations that workplaces and relationships often place on our hair becomes a regular part of our lives. But through it all, we find ways to try to love our hair and pass along the hair and life lessons we’ve learned along the way. Textured Tales is a podcast that shares stories about Black hair and our relationship to it. Creator and Host: Randi Williams

On this week’s episode, I talk with Corey from the podcast Brunch with the Bros (@_brunchwiththebros). Corey drops hella gems as he shares about his 7-year on-again-off-again relationship with his ex. He talks about the unrealistic expectations his ex had of their relationship based on what she saw on social media. Their inability to meet her #relationshipgoals led her to explore options with other men. In the Do Better Corner, we talk about whether or not ghosting is "petty". Enjoy the episode!

On this week’s episode, I talk with CJ Jackson from the podcast 6IX & Friends (@6ixandfriendspod). CJ and I talk about his experience dating women who have stopped dating him because he’s not Christian. Because CJ primarily dates Black women who are often Christian, he’s had to adapt his mindset and approach to dating. We switch up the Do Better Corner today and CJ shares a petty story of when his ex-girlfriend tried to claim he was the father of her child. It’s definitely a good one! Enjoy the episode!

On this week’s episode, I talk with violinist and music instructor, Kendall Isadore. We chat about Kendall's brief summer situationship during quarantine. She met a fellow teacher who seemed to have his shit together emotionally, but their budding romance quickly devolved once financial troubles and inattentiveness started to creep in.
