Welcome to the final episode of Six Degrees of WTF! Yes, it's true. We've decided it's time for us to move on to other projects. True crime is too heavy! That said, we go out on a high note with a couple of interesting cases!Erin kicks things off with the case of David Snow, a Canadian antique store owner who one day closed up shop and disappeared. When he reappeared, he'd turned to a life of crime. After the break, O'Dell covers the case of the Yuba County Five (also known as the American Dyatlov Pass Incident). Five me went to watch their favorite college basketball team play one evening, and disappeared on their way home. Remains of four of the men were found several months later, and one man remains unaccounted for to this day.For our final WTF story of the week, Erin covers a case of a young woman who went to great lengths to hide her smoking habit, and then we close out with a hypothetical and a few shower thoughts. We may be leaving this podcast behind, but we're not giving up completely! We just need lighter topics - the true crime stuff was getting too heavy. Keep an eye out for our new podcast, "Back Where We Belong" launching on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.Chapters:00:00 - Intro01:00 - The final episode10:44 - Erin's Final Case: David Snow34:53 - O'Dell's Final Case: The Yuba County Five59:43 - WTF of the Week: Smoking01:04:14 - Palette Cleanser: One Last Hypothetical01:12:35 - Shower Thoughts01:14:57 - Highlights from the last three yearsSend us a tipCheck out our website for more information on this week's episode, including links to resources and videos mentioned during the show.Music used in this episode was licensed through Epidemic Sound:Reach by STRLGHTI'm Moving On by Layn Become an Acast+ member! We are in full-on spooky season mode now. We've left the awful horror movies behind us, and we are here with two extra creepy paranormal tales. O'Dell kicks things off with a very famous haunting that plagued a young Nova Scotia woman in the late 1800s. After an attempted assault, Esther Cox began to experience unexplained phenomena late at night. It started as knocking on the walls, and soon escalated into things being thrown around the room, writing on the ceiling and spontaneous fires. The strange thing about this is the haunting wasn't relegated to Esther's home, and cropped up in different ways in different locations. Erin follows up with the true story of Anneliese Michel whose story inspired the film, "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". Anneliese believed she was possessed, and would receive as many as 60 exorcisms in two months. Was it simply a neurological disorder, or was she really possessed by several demons? We close things out with a WTF story about a man buried alive at a festival, a few "Have you ever" questions to cleanse the palette and some spooky season inspired shower thoughts.Chapters:00:00 - Intro00:51 - Festivals and Shout-outs03:51 - O'Dell's Case: The Great Amherst Mystery25:04 - Erin's Case: The Possession of Anneliese Michel41:06 - WTF of the Week: Festival No No49:40 - Palette Cleanser: Have You Ever?54:56 - Shower ThoughtsSupport us by becoming a memberSend us a tipLeave us a voice messageDo you have a missing loved one and you'd like us to share their story?
