It’s road trip time as Tariq recalls his memorable but completely hellacious trip to Detroit with three people he would rather not have gone with.  On top of that we talk about the booking nightmare that Halloween Havoc 1994 turned out to be.  In a nutshell, Hogan, Flair, Mr. T., Arn Anderson or Brutus Beefs in a mask, Muhammad Ali, Sting, and Jimmy Hart all get involved in this singles cage match.  What an absolute shit show.  With all that said, Sherri stole the show, watch and you will understand why.
When you talk about parodies there should be one name that comes to mind for everyone, Weird Al Yankovich.  In this week’s intro we talk about the greatness of Weird Al and which one of his works we liked most.  Tariq talks about how he credits Weird Al for providing his children a fundamental understanding of English grammar. With regards to wrestling parodies, one of the greatest of the 1990’s and maybe of all time is the bWo.  We start of the core of this episode by seeing how many bWo members Jim can recall and then get into a brief look back at the debut match of the leader of the bWo, Big Stevie Cool.  At the end of this episode you will head a funny anecdote between Tariq and his daughter.
Have you ever wanted to beat up your dad?  How many people on earth can actually say that got paid to beat up their dad?  Well, Dominik Mysterio can, and that’s one of the reasons why you hate him.   In our intro this week Jim and Tariq talk about their kids challenging them and getting put in their place.  Jim’s kids actually tried to physically challenge him which is ridiculous because he’s 6’8 and Tariq’s daughter actually punched him square in the face!   This match from Wrestlemania 39’s first day of events was definitely one of the most memorable matches of the night and undoubtedly will be remembered for years to come as this match clearly established Dominik’s place in WWE and today his position as one of the greatest heels in the company is absolutely unquestioned.
2023 has seen the death of a remarkable number of highly skilled professional wrestlers.  In addition to the shocking passing of Bray Wyatt this week, we also lost some great legends including Lanny Poffo, Exotic Adrian Street, Superstar Billy Graham, and quite possibly one of wrestling’s greatest performers ever, Terry Funk.
Coincidentally this episode was recorded a day prior to Terry Funk’s passing so Tariq and Jim didn’t provide a career overview of Terry Funk and what he meant to Pro Wrestling.  Quite frankly such a discussion would need at least a month of discussion to do it justice. This week the episode began by discussing moments when Pro Wrestling seemed real to both Jim and Tariq.  Jim and Tariq discuss angles involving Dr. D, Randy Savage, Andy Kaufman and more.   The match itself might quite possibly be one of the greatest in ring debuts ever.  Terry Funk not only establishes himself as a heel but he does so in a unique fashion and is well worth watching.  Some time in the future Tariq and Jim will pay tribute to Terry Funk in a much more appropriate fashion.
In this episode Tariq and Jim talk about the different faces they have… It will make sense once you listen to the discussion. The reason we did so is because this week we are reviewing what is one of the hidden treasures of Hulk Hogan’s career as he takes on Genichiro Tenryu in an outstanding match.  Spoiler alert, Hulk Hogan does an enzigiri!
This week we talk about everything British to us and take a look at an Indy match coming out of the UK that has been making the rounds on social media.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with the backwards ways in which America does things, this week we discuss pounds, inches, feet, yards and even the American political environment in 2023.  Sit back and enjoy Jim reacting to Tariq losing his mind again and again in this episode.
In this week’s episode we talk about the insanity of the recent FMWE show and how Atsushi Onita created a war like environment at a Professional Wrestling show.
Were you alive in 1985?  If you were we bet you won’t believe what went down in 1985!  In this episode we discuss the major events that happened in and around Wrestlemania 1.  For those of you who weren’t around, this is an episode that will likely blow your mind. The match this week comes on the heels of the death of the Iron Sheik and it features his tag team championship win alongside his longtime partner Nikolai Volkoff.  Although most people remember these two for their singing of the Russian National Anthem and the Sheik’s mic work immediately after Volkoff sang, these two were actually really sound workers and this match is a must watch for any true wrestling fan.
Tariq and Jim talk about their experiences going somewhere for the first time and Tariq talks about how his insistence on seeing how the locals live in the Bahamas scarred him for life.    This week we take a close look at the debut of the WWF Tazz (also known as the ECW Taz) and just how great a debut match this was.  It’s hard to believe that the WWF totally ignored how over Tazz was and decided to basically bury his character.
Have you ever broken a bone or been seriously injured?  This week, Tariq and Jim recall their childhood injuries with Tariq talking about multiple inconceivable injuries as a child and Jim talking about something that made Tariq cringe.  The reason why we talked about our own injuries this week were that we covered a match famous for the injuries that resulted from this match. If you haven’t seen this match ever, how can you call yourself a wrestling fan if you haven’t, go and watch this match immediately.  Shocking, stunning, mind boggling there are no words that can describe the carnage that occurred in this match.
Do you have any memories of your favorite teachers?  Which teacher did you hate the most and why?  This week Tariq and Jim talk about teachers.  You will get to learn about Tariq’s first crush, Jim’s respect for an unsung hero and how Tariq behaved like an absolute prick during his Jr. High School days. All of this brings us to, arguably, one of the most famous wrestling matches involving a teacher gimmick, Dean Douglas’ infamous title defense of the intercontinental title against Razor Ramon. You will hear about how this was booked and why the finish could possibly be one of the worst finishes in the history of the WWF.
In this wrestling only episode, we start off with a bit off news about Mac Donald stealing the show at FMWE “The Dawn”.  Just when you think he cannot outdo himself, Mac leaves you shaking your head, in a good way.  From there we get into this week’s match and a look at something that is stereotypically offensive especially for those who are sensitive but, if you can take the joke, all of this humor is done in good fun. Jim takes the lead on the play by play this week as we talk about how great the action is in this week's match. Although the Kung Fu Masters are great, they are clearly outclassed by Shun The Skywalker and Diamante, both of whom deserve to be on a major roster somewhere.  In terms of a finish, Tariq calls this finish a booking mistake. This match is available on Youtube under the Gaora Sports YouTube Channel and we recommend that you get over there and watch is as soon as possible.
Ladies first? Not in Japan.  This week we take a look at a couple of the rather usual customs that exist in Japan.  Many of them will come to surprise you, especially if you have never been to Japan before. The match this week features, in Tariq’s opinion, of the the greatest spots ever pulled off in a comedy wrestling match.  Without giving away the spot, one of the combatants in this match sucks his own thumb in order to get out of a compromising position.  That spot has to be seen to be believed! If you haven’t seen this match search for it online, it is available everywhere and is definitely worth your time.
Are you juicy?  This week we talk about, “The Juicy One”, and that’s why this week’s internet bullshit list is about the top 10 juices?!   Our match this week features one of wrestling’s one hit wonders, Blitzkrieg.  If you don’t know Blitzkrieg go back and watch his matches, we are sure that you will see moves that are in almost every wrestler’s repertoires today.  Although he was ahead of his time and had a significant impact on wrestlers today he only worked for WCW for a year before moving on to a career in I.T.?!?!   His opponent in this match is Juventud Guerrera the man who ripped off the Rock’s gimmick and turned it into one of the most funny wrestling parodies of all time. We talk about some of the things he said and if you have never heard Juventud speak on the mic before going back and listening to his in ring promos is definitely worth your time. This match comes from WCW Spring Stampede 1999, and if you have access to this PPV go back and watch it in its entirety.
Finally both Jim and Tariq created their own top 5 lists and they sudden realize that making these lists are not as simple as they seem. We are curious what are you 5 most favorite angles ever?  This week’s match features the AEW Debut of El Hijo Del Vikingo as he faces off against Kenny Omega.  We know we have been a big heavy on the Kenny Omega matches as of late but it seems as if he has recently put himself in the center of some really great matches.  This match is a lot of what you might expect for fans of lucha but if you have never seen Vikingo before, boy are you in for a treat.   Tariq loved every minute of this bar the finish which he vehemently hated but Jim was expecting that to be the outcome of this match so he was far more satisfied with this contest.    This match is a must watch for absolutely anyone who has never seen El Hijo Del Vikingo wrestle before.
Short but sweet.  No better words can be used to describe this match or this episode.
Have you ever played with a Speak ’n Spell? If so, then you will understand why both Jim and Tariq were mesmerized by the device in their childhood. In addition to that, Jim and Tariq talk about things which were way ahead of their time when growing up and Tariq again recounts his admiration for Teddy Ruxpin, while Jim talks about playing an online game for the first time ever in 1999. This week’s match is something so far ahead of its time that it could have headlined any show today, some 40 years after it actually took place. Not only did Dynamite Kid and Tiger Mask steal the show, they set the standard for what a 5 star junior heavyweight match should look like.  This match is what ever match should aspire to be except for the commentary, Vince McMahon was absolutely horrific in the booth.  We recommend that you watch this match with Japanese commentary even if you don't speak Japanese!   This match is a must watch for absolutely any and every wrestling fan.
Midget wrestling. That’s right, this week we get into a discussion about the differences between midget wrestling of the 1980’s and modern day minis. Jim and Tariq recall their horrific memories of Bundy nearly killing a midget wrestler at Wrestlemania 3 and Tariq talks about ranking Mascarita Sagrada Jr. as one of his top three favorites of all time! This match features a lot of puns in the commentary and the mini announcing team of Micro Cole, Jerry “The Mini King” Lawler and Wee BL almost stole the show! As far as comedy matches go, especially those that have taken place in the WWE, this might be one of the most acclaimed comedy matches of modern times, and deservingly so. As of the recording of this episode, this match was available in its entirety on WWE’s Youtube channel. If you are looking for something to make you laugh and smile, while at the same time excite you in moments, this might be it.
Hear Jim talk all about his love for Marvel in great detail and how he can easily name 400 hundred Marvel super heroes. We then get into a detailed discussion of super powers and come to a consensus that although invisibility seems cool, its basically just a power for perverts. Today’s match is not only the greatest match that you have never seen but it is without a doubt one of the greatest spectacles that either of us have ever seen in wrestling ever. Moreover, this match features, quite possibly, the greatest single crowd in wrestling history. The crowd itself deserves a standing ovation for its participation.
