Now, today’s Old Testament readings include some lengthy genealogies which can be a bit of a challenge to digest in the light of day. But in the context of Sleepy Scriptures, they might be just what we need to help us drift away into a place of rest. This New Testament book is the first of two letters that were written by Paul the apostle to the church in Corinth. Paul wrote this letter from Ephesus around the year 55 a.d. I’ll read Psalm 78 today, and begin the Old Testament book of 2 Samuel with chapters 1 to 4. There's a lot going on in the world, and sometimes we need respite from the troubling events of our time.
