Tracklist on https://slothboogie.com/ Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe has amassed an impressive discography, delivering inspired releases and reworks for the likes of Local Talk, Z Records, Strictly Rhythm, Room Control, Tribe, Quantize and his own label Good Vibrations Music. Releasing his first tracks in 2003, he has fine-tuned a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful and definitely house. A quick listen to any of his productions or DJ sets will confirm this emotion-rich aesthetic. Constantly learning and evolving, taking his sound in different directions, McCabe admits to a love of vintage synthesizers – picked up from listening to classic New York boogie and ‘80s soul. "I always like to play a mix of styles in a set to keep it interesting and represent the different styles that I like. I selected about 50 tracks that I felt like playing, to give me options, some recently released and some forthcoming. I made up the structure as I went along based on how I felt in the moment. It starts with a blend of soulful songs and funky/jazzy grooves, then delves into deeper driving tracks to build some anticipation, like a crescendo of some sort, then relieve the tension with music that has a resolving feel to it and end with some broken beat and jazzy ear candy. I think this is typical of how I try to programme my mixes. Like a very long chord progression or song structure; set mood, build tension, resolve, home, then repeat. In honour of my new EP, Breeze FM, I thought I'd put together 60 mins of some of the dance music that inspired the making of the record. The mix is equal parts deep house, italo, balearic -- all with a light and breezy touch. There's some relatively new music in there, and a couple classics too. We met Eluize by chance in Berlin when she was playing at IPSE with us a while ago now. We loved what she did in the booth that day and have been in touch ever since. She's got lots on the go so we thought we'd get her back for another mix for the SB series. Late Nite City is the latest project from @georgeSmeddles, Danny Langan and Josh Arise. It represents an expression of their different tastes and styles of music, expect an eclectic range of releases in the near future. Detroit-based producer, singer, and percussionist Alton Miller has been playing a fundamental role in defining House Music for over three decades. Born in Chicago and raised in Detroit on Stevie Wonder, Santana, Parliament Funkadelic and the Philly Sound. Alton’s early roots in soul music led to an affinity for clubbing and the perfect storm of music, dance, and skill that is required to create it. Alton opened the legendary club The Music Institute, in 1988, along with his like-minded friends Chez Damier and George Baker. He has released music on some of the best independent labels in the industry such as Detroit renowned Planet E and Mahogani Music and Europeans Defected and Neroli Records. Prolific producer, Alton Miller continues to further his musical endeavours with releases on labels, including his own InnerMuse Recordings and Music Institute Records. Since 2019, Miller has been cultivating his connection with South Africa’s thriving house music scene. That same year, he created the Alton Miller Foundation to help youth to develop life skills and frequently is asked to speak at workshops and symposiums about his experiences and contributions to Electronic music and House music. Alton has two forthcoming EPs on Mister Bear Records in Spring & Summer 2024 and we’re excited to showcase both to the House music world. @altonmillerofficial

'With this mix, I wanted to combine tracks that have drawn me in over the past few months, a few older mainstays in my collection and a couple of my own that seemed to fit the mood. To begin, I wanted to create a feeling of the anticipation that I associate with early summer, and then decided to go a bit more bass driven and euphoric as things progressed! I had loads of fun putting this together and I hope that you like it! London based Producer and DJ Memphis Glass is inspired by exploring interesting spaces between house, techno and bass music. Since his debut ‘Orange Circles’ EP on SITU Records in 2021, he has been steadily building a reputation for his deep sound that balances sweet melancholic melodies with driving drums and enveloping basslines. Remixes for both DJ Panthr and Greg May and his 2nd EP ‘Mechanics’ released on Finland based imprint Mood Of The Era have seen him establish a signature sound that makes his productions stand out as distinctly his own. I had an EP ‘Mechanics’ out on Mood Of The Era at the end of last year followed by a track called ‘Look Ahead’ in March on a new label called Rooms Inc.
