Description

We are looking in so many different directions when it comes to community involvement and economic growth and we feel that it's sitting more education in our community when in all actuality it's more access that changes the game for us all. The greatest challenge is bringing everyone to the table. Clifford has a unique ability to bring everyone to the table and keep them focused and excited about being there. The purpose of this podcast is to first bring awareness to the things we take for granted. Most importantly to improve the intentionality and access to the billions of dollars in advertising in the name of women, minorities, and disadvantaged small businesses. The greatest opportunity that we have together is in intentional oversight of how we direct and manage the billions of dollars in funding and programs at federal, state, and local. In every part of government and then those private organizations that have money designated for targeted programs but truly haven't been as effective as they wanted to be, or simply not effective at all.Tune in as Clifford shows us the other side of possibility not just in government but in business and life when we all decide to step up and tackle the problem together, one leader at a time.

Our country would be so much stronger if we made the small business programs strong. I will walk you through the elements of a successful government program, and what you need.  How to get it to work in any environment, and how to ignore the red flags when it's in trouble.   From redefining the bidding process to building strong relationships with government agencies, this episode is a must-listen for all. Small business owners looking to succeed in this competitive field, directors sitting on the team coming up with the program rules and guidelines, and everything and everyone in between.
On this episode, we take a deep dive into THE CEO code and the ways in which it perpetuates double standards in the business world. From unequal pay and opportunities for minorities in work development in construction to the sharing of lucrative projects among the insider group, we examine how this exclusive club operates and the impact it has on those left on the outside looking in. Join us as we explore the perspectives of those who have experienced firsthand the disadvantages of being an outsider in this system, and discuss what can be done to bring about change that has the kind of impact that all in the community can feel.
What we don't realize is the double standards are crippiling us in ways we don't even realize. We are becoming comfotable with not taking action, but honestly if we did it could be THE answer we are looking for. Double standards are the silent nuances inside of a project, bid or business relationship that keeps us behind on real growth. Explosion growth, the kind that we are after. If we would simply get infront of these double standars in the form of checks and balances I know it would have the kind of ripple effect that would move mountains, especially in the DEI space.
Small businesses are often subjected to negative stereotypes that paint them as less successful, less innovative, and less capable than their larger counterparts. These misconceptions are not only damaging to the reputation of small businesses, but they also hold back aspiring business owners who may believe that they cannot compete in the marketplace. In reality, small businesses are the backbone of many economies and play a critical role in job creation, economic growth, and innovation. They are often nimbler and more adaptable than larger organizations, able to pivot quickly in response to changing market conditions. Small business owners are often highly motivated and driven, bringing passion and creativity to their work. By debunking these harmful stereotypes, we can help to create a more supportive and inclusive environment for small businesses, and encourage more people to pursue their  dreams and create stronger impact that can be felt by all in the community.
'The Silent Impact' that we don't talk about. In looking to have an effective program we have to address payment. As crazy as it may sound prompt payment changes so much for the small business and impacts much more than just the owner. In the complex world of construction and government construction, and the often-overlooked topic of prompt payment. Hosted by a construction industry expert, each episode will delve into the ways in which prompt payment can have a massive impact on everyone involved in the construction process, from contractors and suppliers to government officials and taxpayers. From the legal and financial implications to the human impact on workers and their families, we'll cover the most important points to help you understand the far-reaching effects of prompt payment and how you can become part of the change.
In this episode, we tackle a difficult but important topic: the mistreatment of women-owned businesses in the construction industry. From discrimination and harassment to being shut out of bidding opportunities, we discuss the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in a male-dominated field. We also speak with women who have succeeded in spite of these obstacles and explore what can be done to level the playing field and create a more inclusive industry. Join me as we address an elephant in the room and strive for real change that everyone can feel.  The level of impact that women can make in the bigger picture is insane. It starts with inclusion.
Participation goals really help us to all win. That's the ultimate goal. Everyone winning. As crazy as it sounds, I believe that when we up the participation levels we instantly add more fluidity to the project at hand, save more money and become more profitable. Take a quick peek with me into what I believe the participation goals should be and whats the potential hiding in the possible outcome is when we increase them across the board.
We are looking in so many different directions when it comes to community involvement and economic growth and we feel that it's sitting more education in our community when in all actuality it's more access that changes the game for us all. There is an opportunity to grow small businesses by giving them access. If we put a little more focus and emphasis on directing the dollars being received in state, local, and national projects we would see something important happen in the local communities that we have not seen before sustainable impact. In this episode CEO of Milestone Construction will not only walk you through the opportunity at hand but will also lay the foundation for the steps you need to take to start making the changes needed in your organization today.
