This week, in Rutland, Vermont, a horribly murdered body is found, on fire, beneath the ski lift of a popular resort, and investigators have very little to work with. This isn't some tourist, either, this a full on small town twisted plot, that is as crazy as it is cruel. But the whole thing comes to a halt when something very basic comes into question... is the dead person actually who we thought it was? Or is that person actually the murderer?? This one is as wild as they get! Along the way, we find out that syrup runs downhill, that you should rely on more than a murder victim's uncle to identify them, and that if you see a friend, who you thought had been murdered... don't talk to them!! Hosted by James Pietragallo & Jimmie Whisman  New episodes every Thursday!  Donate at: patreon.com/crimeinsports or go to paypal.com & use our email: crimeinsports@gmail.com  Go to shutupandgivememurder.com for all things Small Town Murder & Crime In Sports!  Follow us on...  twitter.com/@murdersmall  facebook.com/smalltownpod  instagram.com/smalltownmurder  Also, check out James & Jimmie's other show, Crime In Sports! This week, in Gresham, Oregon, horrified bystanders watch as a dead & naked body is tossed off a 75 foot cliff, and into the river below. This starts a mystery that travels across several states, and brings us to some of the most troublesome, awful people that can be imagined. In the end, the question is, was this a premeditated act of extreme violence, or a case of a swinging night & wild threesome gone wrong?  Along the way, we find out that Italians are everywhere, that you should look for witnesses before dumping a body, and that finding your soul mate, may not always the best thing for the world!! This week, in Clarkston, Georgia, fear quickly spreads when a woman is found, strangled, and floating, in her own bathtub. The fear only gets worse when it happens to another woman... Then another one. It's a mystery, but the one thing that is known for sure, is that a serial killer is on the loose. A suspect finally emerges, after a police sketch is made, but he's not admitting anything, except one particularly embarrassing detail, that he says proves his innocence! Along the way, we find out that this small town probably has some pretty good food, that bath water gets cold, faster than we thought, and that you can't possibly be a rapist/murderer, if you only have sex with your sister! This week, in Malvern, Arkansas, a young woman leaves her home to go see her boyfriend, for a little while, but she never shows up. The only trace of her is her car, which is left on the side of the road, locked. This causes incredible panic, and a widespread search, that eventually finds a body. The crime is a true mystery, until investigators get a huge break, and find an absolute monster, with a history of unspeakable crimes, and somehow, it just continues to get stranger from there! Along the way, we find out that they don't make many bricks, anymore, that criminals tend to eventually learn not to leave witnesses, and that it's suspicious to walk into a store, with your overalls covered in blood!! This week, in Hillsdale, New York, a most brutal, smoldering murder is a mystery, at first, but quickly focuses on one suspect, who turns out to have one of the wildest tales that we've ever heard. Was he a person, with a simple motive for murder, or was he a deranged man, on a mission from God, who believes that he is simultaneously King Arthur, Jesus, Robin Hood, Merlin The Wizard, a ninja, and The Bear King? That's the question, but either way, this was a truly awful & vicious murder!! Along the way, we find out that Slambodovia isn't a real country, that Merlin apparently had a forehead tattoo, and that when you're on a mission from God, you don't need an attorney! This week, in Bristol, Florida, when a woman's bound body is found, with a concrete block tied to her ankle, in a secluded creek, in a half sunken rowboat, investigators had no idea what kind of a mess they were about to attempt to untangle. An array of grievances left a man to wanting to kill a particular woman. And that woman, wanting to kill that man. And another woman, also wanting to kill that woman, and maybe that man, too. And any these people may not have even done the deed. It's a truly crazy tale of love, hate, murder, and fishing bait!! Along the way, we find out that Florida people treat gators like, at most, a minor problem, that some young women are apparently attracted to nightcrawlers, and that the more people you ask to commit a murder for you, the more people that will tell on you!! This week, in Shenandoah, Iowa, a horrifyingly cruel murder leaves very few clues, other than the large serving fork, protruding from the victim's neck. Obvious factors take investigators down a road that seems to have an arrest, at the end, but they are blocked at every pass. Finally, an unlikely source comes forward with information that takes everyone by surprise, and shifts the focus somewhere completely different. To someone calling themselves "Night Stalker"! Along the way, we find out that everything is fertile in Iowa, that no one has ever fallen on on to a serving fork & impaled themselves, and that some books not only shouldn't be judged by their covers, but maybe not the first 50 pages, either! This week, in Borrego Springs, California, a very sick person hatches a very sick plan to lure his prey to a secluded spot, and inflict untold horrors upon them. It turns out even worse than the plan, but the big problem is that this definitely not the first time. A history of sordid attempts to take creepy pictures, and maybe make some snuff films, blows this whole thing wide open, and even more disturbing information is unearthed! Along the way, we find out that you better not turn your porch light on in this town, that you shouldn't take a creepy person's offer to take nude pictures of you, and that you can't be your own alibi!! This week, in Hastings, Michigan, a small town erupts in scandal, when a vicious murder takes place, and it turns out not to be the simple robbery that someone wanted to make it look like. The characters that come out of the woodwork are remarkable, with a web of suspects, and members of what is believed to be a conspiracy. Or, maybe it's an experienced killer? Or a wounded lover? This maze eventually gets sorted out in such a strange way, that it definitely needs to be heard to be believed! Along the way, we find out that people here lift weights in the street, that it's hard to destroy half of a person's skull by accident, and that justice is sometimes quite muddy!! This week, in Laurel, Delaware, a skeleton is found, tied to a tree, and needless to say, this freaks out the whole area. There are a lot of theories, and dark, disturbing possibilities, but it doesn't take long for the truth to unfold, which raises even more questions, and horror at the suffering of the victim. The whole thing gets even crazier, when it appears that no one will be punished for the act!  Along the way, we find out that they love to day drink in Delaware, that a misplaced dumbbell can make you a murderer, and that it's possible to torture someone, without doing a thing! This week, in Easton, Maryland, a prominent person is killed in their own kitchen, in a most brutal manner, leaving investigators scrambling, and the FBI preparing a profile of the killer(s). What follows can only be described as "insane". Suspects, coming & going, family members turning against each other, threats, and years of legal wrangling. An absolute mess, with an equally messy ending! Along the way, we find out that fowl calling is an international sport, that DNA should probably be introduced at trial, not after the trial, and that there just aren't answers to every question!! This week, in Tijeras, New Mexico, when a murder suspect leads detectives to the scene of the crime, even hardened investigators are shocked at what they find there. What led to this? A life of lies, some of which couldn't be taken back, and the only solution was murder. That... or demonic possession. One, or the other! Along the way, we find out that there at least a few Italians in New Mexico, that some lies are too big to admit, and that just when we think we've heard it all, along comes this story!!
