On this episode of Smart Mouth Life, we're checking in with political strategist Tonya Jameson, Smart Mouth Life's first two-time guest.  Tonya, a former longtime journalist at The Charlotte Observer, is the owner/head coach of the Jameson Advisory Group, working with politicians and community leaders. She is also a fierce advocate for political education, specifically voter rights.  Given the state of this country as we get closer and closer to Nov. 3, we have so many questions.
So we are more than two months into the Covid-19 pandemic, and things are starting to open up. It's fair to say we've spent this time doing things differently — mostly because we've had too. But (silver lining!) some of these things we've happily decided we like and are going to keep in our lives going forward and some of them are going straight into the trash the minute we can easily let them go. She is co-author with Shana Knizhnik of "Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg." In 2017 and 2018, Irin worked with Washington Post reporter Amy Brittain to break the news of sexual harassment and assault allegations against Charlie Rose. In early 2019, she left the Observer to strike out on her own, and has since been nominated for a James Beard Foundation journalism award (her third time as a finalist) and had work published in Southern Living and Garden & Gun, among other media outlets. She's published three books so far, the most recent is "Distilling The South," and is a walking encyclopedia of southern foodways knowledge.
