In Part Two of this week's So Shameless, the conversations get even deeper as Tahoe, Kelly G, Lama, and the crew tackle friendship, vulnerability, gender double standards, race, and accountability. We kick things off by asking whether men give their female friends relationship advice from a male perspective instead of understanding how women think. Lama takes things a step further when he admits that sometimes he's willing to play the long game as a friend, hoping a woman will eventually see him as something more. Is that genuine friendship or just waiting for an opportunity?Kelly G opens up about experiencing pain in her personal life while refusing to let anyone perceive her as weak, leading Tahoe to ask an important question: What's the difference between being vulnerable and being weak? The discussion shifts to interracial relationships as Kelly explains why she sometimes feels judged for liking white people. We also explore her Jewish ancestry, ethnic cleansing, and the historical and cultural differences between Eastern and Western Europeans. Then things heat up as we debate whether women receive more grace than men, why respect sometimes seems conditional, and whether society spends too much time teaching women how to avoid sexual assault instead of teaching men not to commit it.We also discuss the allegations surrounding Kai Cenat involving alleged abusive behavior toward younger people, and close with a debate about mothers choosing to give their children their own last names instead of the father's.Are men and women really held to the same standards, or do we only believe in equality when it benefits us? Tap in, join the conversation, and let us know where you stand!Socials:Kelly@TheKellyGShow on InstagramLama@LamaBean on Instagram
This week on So Shameless, we’re joined by Kelly G, “The Drill Fairy,” and Lama, owner of Slyte Studios, for an episode packed with controversial opinions, hilarious dating stories, and some uncomfortable conversations about Black culture. We kick things off with Lama asking a question that might make you rethink your entire circle: What’s the difference between a real friend and somebody you’re just cool with? Then things heat up as we discuss Davinci’s controversial interview with Cam Newton, where he calls Americans lazy and incompetent compared to people from other countries and argues that Black Americans need to stop focusing on slavery. Tahoe and the crew dive into the growing diaspora wars between Black Americans, Africans, and Caribbean people, and whether these conversations are doing more harm than good. But the real fireworks begin when we turn to modern dating! Are women expecting men to prove their worth without offering anything in return? Kelly G admits that some women test men to see how much money and effort they can get out of them, while Traum points out that men do their fair share of dry begging too.Are women taking advantage of men in today’s dating culture? Should men always pay for dates? And why are Black Americans, Africans, and Caribbean people still fighting amongst themselves? Lama shares some WILD dating experiences, including breaking up with a woman over an expensive meal, refusing to pay for an uninvited friend, and ending things with someone who ordered too much food and took the leftovers home! Meanwhile, Kelly reveals she’d rather have a man pay one of her bills than take her on a date, sparking a conversation about financial expectations, boundaries, and the difference between being a good man and a nice guy. Are men being used, or are they simply failing to establish boundaries? Are women asking for too much, or are men expecting too much in return? Tap in with Tahoe, Traum, Kelly G, Lama, and the So Shameless crew for another episode where NOTHING is off limits! Drop your thoughts in the comments: What’s the biggest red flag when it comes to dating and money? Socials:Kelly@TheKellyGshowLama@LamaBean
Part Two of this week’s So Shameless gets HEAVY as the crew tackles some uncomfortable conversations about accountability, race, relationships, and the expectations Black men and women have of each other. We start with the Cornell 7 conversation and debate who was actually culpable. Was the young woman victimized, were there multiple people responsible for what happened, or is there more nuance to the situation than people are willing to acknowledge? Then a young woman makes the statement that “Black men are hard to love.” What makes someone feel that way, and are Black men being judged fairly when it comes to relationships? From there, another woman argues that Black women want the “white woman experience” — and that chasing the lifestyle, treatment, and relationship expectations associated with white women can cause some Black women to look down on Black men who can’t or won’t provide it. Is there any truth to that, or is the entire premise rooted in stereotypes? And finally, Megan Thee Stallion says that her relationship with Klay Thompson and conversations about toning down her public image left her in a constant state of panic. When you’re dating someone with a provocative or highly public persona, is it fair to ask them to change? And where’s the line between compromise and control? This one gets complicated.Tap in with the So Shameless crew and tell us where YOU stand.Socials:Reg@LTLEng on InstagramTasia@TasiaJanine on Instagram
The So Shameless crew is back, and we’re starting this episode in HOMIE COURT! 😂 Who is Yesssterday mad at this time?! After a few people show up late, we have to figure out why Yesssterday has an attitude — and who deserves the blame. Then we get into a viral couple who records their arguments and posts them online so the internet can decide who’s wrong. Is bringing social media into your relationship ever a good idea? That leads us into a HEATED conversation when Reg explains the things he will and won’t accept from his woman, his rules about leadership in a relationship, and why he believes his lady should allow him to lead. Tasia thinks some of it sounds misogynistic and controlling. Can a man be the leader of a relationship without controlling his woman? And should there even be a hierarchy between men and women in relationships? Tahoe also tells the crew about an altercation he almost had at a gas station before we get into a wild money dilemma: If someone you know loses $3,000 and YOU find it, are you entitled to take a finder’s fee before giving their money back? 👀 That question leads Tahoe to tell the story of finding $8,500 during one of the lowest moments of his life. Plus, why are people building robots that can actually fight?! Are we moving too fast with AI, and at what point should we start worrying about where all of this technology is headed? Reg also questions why a man would “allow” his woman to take a trip without him — because according to Reg, his lady could NEVER. 😂 And finally, Savannah James says that if she and a friend are traveling together, she isn’t necessarily upgrading her friend to first class just because she can afford to upgrade herself. Her friend says she wouldn’t expect her to — but Tahoe says he would definitely feel a way about it. Would YOU upgrade your friend, or are they meeting you in baggage claim? 😂 Tap in with the So Shameless crew and tell us who you agree with in the comments. Socials:Reg@LTLEng on Instagram
Part Two of So Shameless featuring Kizzle of @expressyourselfblackman and life coach Coach Bellamy (@mrsbellamy.callmecoach) gets personal as we talk about insecurity, fatherhood, relationships, responsibility and some uncomfortable truths about ourselves. We start with something almost everybody experiences but doesn’t always admit: feelings of inadequacy. What do you do when you don’t feel like you’re enough? And how much of overcoming those feelings comes from changing your circumstances versus changing the way you see yourself? Then we get into fatherhood and discipline. What happens when Dad constantly feels like the bad guy because he’s the parent enforcing the rules? Are fathers sometimes sacrificing their relationship with their children in order to prepare them for the real world? From there, Tahoe asks a question that’s guaranteed to start an argument: When your woman is pregnant, should she still have to work — or is it a man’s responsibility to put himself in a position where she doesn’t HAVE to? And does providing that option make it her choice, or should that simply be the expectation? Then things get even more complicated. Does being in a relationship mean you belong to your partner in some way? Are you your partner’s “possession,” or does that language cross a line between commitment and control? We also talk about preparing your children for what happens after you’re gone. Should your kids know what they’re inheriting while you’re still alive, or should they find out when the will is read? And can knowing what’s coming change the way family members behave? Finally, we ask one of the most uncomfortable relationship questions of the episode: Can you be partially responsible for your partner cheating on you? The person who cheats is responsible for the decision they make — but can problems inside a relationship help create the circumstances that lead someone to step outside of it? And is understanding what went wrong the same thing as excusing the betrayal? Insecurity. Fatherhood. Pregnancy. Providing. Possession. Inheritance. Infidelity. Yeah…Part Two went there.
