Description

So That Just Happened is an honest exploration of what it’s like to lose your person and find yourself.

I’m Carly Cooper, a mom/widow/coach/author/chronic truth seeker and my superpower is finding the funny, the hope and the silver lining in any sh*t situation.

This podcast is filled with practical (and some woo-woo) tools that have helped me heal my broken heart and rewire my brain after experiencing the traumatic loss of my husband of 27 years. I’ll share mindset shifts, manifestation tips, compelling interviews, ways to open yourself up to love again and how to reinvent yourself in the most glorious, unapologetic way. Take what resonates and leave the rest!

What I share on this show are my personal opinion and experiences. It’s not a diagnosis for treatment or a substitute for professional help. If you need further support or are struggling, please contact your local emergency service or call 9-1-1.

Tune in every Wednesday for a new episode and please share with someone you feel it could help.

I had the honour of being a guest on Clare Garner’s Dare to Share Challenge—a podcast where leaders take the stage to share their stories with depth and vulnerability. Each episode breaks down the walls of perception, diving into the human experience and showing that even admired role models are just as real and imperfect as the rest of us. Here are the key points we covered in our conversation: Redefining After Loss: We discussed what it means to redefine oneself after a life-changing personal loss and navigate raw, challenging moments. Career Shift: I shared my decision to leave a 17-year coaching career and start a new path as a voice-over artist at age 50, reflecting on the courage it took to make this change. Feeling and Healing: We explored the process of honouring my limits, embracing imperfection, and finding the strength to keep moving forward—even when it’s difficult. Embracing Imperfection: The episode highlighted the idea that growth isn’t always polished and that it’s okay to feel fear when stepping into something new. Join us for an honest conversation about facing challenges, daring to evolve on your own terms, and finding the courage to start over. In this episode, I had the pleasure and honour of sitting down with my former business coach, Lori Kennedy, Founder and CEO, of The Wellness Business Hub, a global business development company for alternative practitioners and coaches starting and growing an online business.  In this straight-up, no-bullshit conversation we talked about the difference between sadness and grief how to properly grieve so you can move forward in the healthiest way possible and the importance of slowing down especially if you're used to going full speed.  Lori also gets real and honest about the mistakes she made as a single mom of two after her divorce and what she would have done differently knowing what she knows now. Losing your person, a close family member or a dear friend can feel devastating. But just because they are physically gone, doesn't mean their presence is.  In this episode, I interview one of my closest friends, Jaimee Diamond and she candidly shares what it was like losing her Nana and her Dad.  She also talks about the ways in which she still feels their guidance and presence and the comfort that brings her.  My hope is that if you're feeling sad over the loss of someone close to you, you'll take comfort too in knowing that your loved ones are still watching out for you.  Make sure you subscribe so you can catch every new episode and please share with someone who you feel it could help. There are many reasons people experience grief. The death of a loved one, divorce, changes in your health, job loss, or even the death of a dream that never came to be. I think it’s safe to say we all have or have had reason to feel grief in our life.  The bigger questions are, have you properly dealt with it? Have you unpacked the feelings both emotional and physical that grief can evoke? Are you even aware that what you may be experiencing is actually grief?  In this episode, I will share some lessons I’ve adopted along the way that have really helped me heal and move forward.
