In this episode, we discuss a piece titled "Dear African Abroad: Home Is Not Waiting For You" by Takondwa. We talk about our blind spots and how they impact the ways in which we continue to interact with the places we call home. The sound quality is a bit shambolic but please bare with us as we work our way through that. We promise it will improve as we continue on this journey.

This week's episode is focused on how we manage winter and deal with the change of seasons in our lives (in the physical and metaphoric sense). We were joined by 3 beautiful women, Fiki, NK and Alexa, who also shared their own experiences with dealing with tough seasons. This was a fun, heartwarming conversation and we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it. Most importantly, we hope that the season is kind to you and that you are taking good care of yourselves. Feel free to let us know what you thought.
In this week's episode, we've decided to talk about our self care journeys and struggles, before and while we are in college. We feel that we all need to start taking better care of ourselves in order to participate fully in our everyday lives. We also recognize that with school, some moments are tougher than others, and that so often taking care of ourselves ends up taking the back seat. However, we think if we work together, we can be of better help to each other. Feel free to leave us comments, we would love to know what you think and how you each practice self care, especially when life gets in the way. Our friends, Zola and NK, have joined us for an exciting episode about transitioning from high school to college. This episode touches on culture shock, fitting in, forming new relationships and much much more. Feel free to leave us a comment and remember to subscribe and share this with all of your friends. NB, The team would like to address the misuse and overlook of the term cisgender. The proper term in this case is cis-het men, men who are cisgender and heterosexual. The use of just “cis” in the podcast implies that the hosts could have been referring to cisgender queer folks as well, which is not the case.
This is the summer recap/wrap up we've all been waiting for! In episode 2, our lovely trio share some thoughts on the challenging past couple of weeks and what Hot Girl Summer looked like for them. Tune in for a hearty conversation and remember to subscribe and leave a comment!
Do we need to be more forgiving towards Black womxn who choose to date outside of their race? In this episode, we are joined by our beautiful friend Simone Hadebe. We talk about our experiences with forming intimate relationships in predominantly white spaces and how the politics of desirability come into play. We acknowledge that our experiences may be unique to everyone out there and that this is a very loaded topic (there is still a lot of things that we need to unpack). However, we do hope that this was a solid start to much greater conversations. We hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave a comment and share. We decided to be cute!!! This episode is about the few things that we are grateful for. We kept it short and sweet but we hope you all don't mind. School hasn't been that cooperative lately and the its getting colder by the day. We hope that you are all staying warm and fighting a successful fight against academics, mental health, and all the other battles that you might be facing. We definitely want to see all of you come out on top and hope this episode reminds you of some of the little things that you should be thankful for. We would also like to hear from you, so be sure to drop us a comment (perhaps let us know what you are grateful for). --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/socialexperiment/message
