On this very special Carbon Neutral Strike Update, Ariel joins me to talk about the Nature Benefit System & Currency (NBS&C) forming the backbone of Fastfrwrd as the theory and basis of praxis carried out on the platform. Nature Benefit Systems are about fitting into nature and ensuring our actions suit the natural environment. The currency that flows through this system serves as payment for ecosystem services that reward environmental care over extraction. We talk about a few different ways this System and Currency can be realized in the real world, and the fact that Fastfrwrd is a data production and testing arena for this, with the Dews Nature Benefit Currency and gamification.Timestamps:History: 02:50Nature Benefit System: 06:45Nature Benefit Currency: 47:50Solarpunk Presents Patreon: https://patreon.com/solarpunkpresentsTranscript and highlights from sources: https://www.patreon.com/solarpunkpresents/posts/special-carbon-171442518Website: https://solarpunkpresents.comFastfrwrd: https://fastfrwrd.info Hosted on Acast. Have you ever heard of appropriate technology? It's all about the type of technology that is accessible to most people, from its creation to its use and repair, inclusive and appropriate for various environments. The website Appropedia is a wiki style repository of knowledge with more than 4,000 projects detailed on the site relating to sustainability, accessibility, inclusion and an appropriately paced rate of progression for all parties involved in the global community, rather than presenting technologies that the end user does not know how it works, how to replicate it or how to repair it, and instead are simply told to 'keep up.' This is technology built with justice. How cool is that? We also have a segment testing a few solarpunk tech ideas for appropriateness just to get a better sense of how the definition can be applied!Appropedia: https://www.appropedia.org/Welcome_to_AppropediaSolarpunk Presents Patreon: https://patreon.com/solarpunkpresentsSolarpunk Presents Website: https://solarpunkpresents.comFastfrwrd Website for Music: https://fastfrwrd.info Hosted on Acast.
