I like how our 'adult' solution is to treat people like children and put them in time-out.

The fact that your entire premise for this episode is that a whole demographic needs to be 'solved' illustrates the entire problem. How ridiculously tone-deaf.

Apparently political demonization is only a right-wing problem. That's awesome, because we have the problem half-solved and just need to get those damn conservatives to be always kind and reasonable and good-willed like everyone on the left already is.

it's ironic that this podcast is how to stop political demonization, while demonizing populists. It assumes "defending the liberal order" as unquestionably correct. While the xenophobism of populists is despicable, liberalism has caused suffering, enabling excessive capitalism and justifying imperialism. Treating the existence of conservatives as an issue that needs to be solved rather than having legitimate grievances only continues this political demonization.
