Listening to the inspirational author James Nestor talk about his new book, Breathe, on the Joe Rogan Podcast, he mentioned the amazing Iced Viking - Chuck McGee III. We dropped Chuck a note to see if he wanted to join us on the podcast and despite his post Rogan fame, luckily for us, he agreed. Over the last year or so, we'd become more conscious about breath work and how it was creeping into Elite Sport. We'd heard it was being used in cycling, there's even a mumuring that breath work explains Chris Froome's descending position in the Tour a few years back. The England rugby team have supposedly been using it and there are many more examples. Chuck was able to give us a great insight into breath work, what it is, various types, the advantages and more. We talk about being a Wim Hoff Method and Oxygen Advantage Instructor. We discuss potential performance gains, taping the mouth shut to sleep, holotropic breathing, feeling light headed, climbing mountains in the snow in just a pair of shorts, slowing your heart rate, ice baths, and lots more – we even do a couple of exercises for you to try. Below are some resources, it's well worth checking out or joining one of Chuck's free classes. Feel free to contact him to ask any questions too. Triathlon on a cycling podcast? We caught up with the CEO of XTRI Stuart McInnes about their 14 amazing endurance events in some of the most spectacular and challenging terrains in the world. It is triathlon but not as you know it as they seek to create stunning experiences that are far beyond the athletic endeavour. We discuss the synergies in the movement with what we are seeing in the cycling world and Stuart points out that many of the athletes competing aren't from a traditional triathlon background with many road and MTB cyclists drawn to the raw and wild challenge of the events. You have probably heard of the Norseman but have a listen to learn a lot more, an insight into a whole new sport. xtriworldtour.com Has links to all events and much more. xtri-xperience.com for more information of their Mallorca camp Films: Norseman 2019

He's an Australian former pro, having raced internationally with the Australian Institute of Sport alongside Michal Matthews, Luke Durbridge and Rohan Dennis; before racing with Pro-Conti team Rapha in the UK. It was during this time Rich had the idea to set up Spok'd making him a tech start up entrepreneur. Spok'd sits nicely as an option between out of the box training plans and engaging with a coach. This online training and coaching platform is his mission to make it simple, personal and smarter to train and get faster. Rich talks us through all of this and we also speak with friend of Unfound, Marc Burroughs, who will be undergoing an eight week trail of Spok'd. We will rendezvous in eight weeks to hear how Marc found the platform, the training and any improvements in performance. Rich will also be able to give Marc some feedback on his training.
