December 16th, 2019 • We got another episode in before Christmas! Normally around Christmas you enjoy an increase in gifts, but this episode has 2 fewer songs than usual. We’ve done this to teach you to appreciate what you have before it’s gone. That’s a good holiday lesson. Also, that’s a lie, Devon just forgot how many songs we were doing this season. Never trust Devon. That’s another good holiday lesson. Join us this week as we talk about chanting, nudity, and Tom Petty. If that doesn’t sound like a cult I don’t know what does. Happy Holidays everyone!

November 4th, 2019 • I hope everyone is prepared to expand their electronic horizons! This episode, we all bring at least some electronic music, but our guest host Olivia speaks about the genre in a way that Devon & Cory never could. Join the 3 of us as we discover that Devon doesn’t take notes, Cory brings 5 songs in 1, and we all bond over our love for MGMT. Also, how much are you into canvas 6-pack bags? If you own one, this may be your favorite Song Buzzards episode of all time. Did I mention that even the beer Olivia brings is called Techno?

October 15th, 2019 • This episode has been catered to Cory’s likes. We talk about Cory’s birthday, listen to bands with horns, point out interesting snare drum notes, play a Motown-inspired track, and go on-and-on about Blink-182, all while Cory solves a Rubik’s cube. If you’re Cory, this episode has it all. If you’re someone else, this episode has a few things. So sit back and listen to our Extreme tangent about Extreme the band, while we try and fail to make it through this episode before Devon is fired.

September 23rd, 2019 • Welcome to the first episode of recent release that did not take a year and a half to produce. To prove we still got it, please enjoy our riveting discussions about laundry, mowing the grass, lamp posts, and perhaps some music when we remember. We’ve got songs named after lakes, songs about fear of snakes, and songs recorded in a haunted place. Honestly, not enough people even read these descriptions to warrant the amount of time I spent rhyming that last line. Or the amount of time I spent googling how to spell “rhyming”. Stop reading. Press play.

We’ve been away for so long that most of you will get this new-episode notification on your phone and think it’s a virus. All things considered, that isn’t far from the truth. It’s like an ear infection, but you want to get it. Feel free to use a vacation day at work. This episode is worth it.

May 21st, 2018 • Listen. It took us a bit to record this episode. Don’t worry. We’ve both had multiple haircuts since our last episode to ensure we bring you our best selves. On this episode we agree that The Flash’s real name must be Caleb Quick, Cory’s unhealthy obsession with ghosts continues, and Devon almost becomes a ghost via electric shock. We also discuss two very underrated instruments (the sad trumpet, and the space echo), convince wives that too much vinyl is never a bad thing, and succumb to the power of science. We will try our hardest to not take another break-long month. We will pencil it in. On a stone.
And The Kids - I Can't Tell What The Time Is Telling Me (3:39)
The Moondoggies - Easy Coming (12:34)
Tangled Hair - Keep Doing What You're Doing (23:23)

April 16th, 2018 •
Easter happened. There was ham, there was chocolate, there was pineapple, and much like this new episode of Song Buzzards – it was a solid 6 out of 10. In this accidental easy-listening-themed episode, Devon gets no sleep, Cory features a not-so-super group, and we all reminisce about MTV’s Best 100 Music Videos of All Time. Did you know that 1979 was popular in 1995? Did you know that the best part of a song is typically when the silence stops, and the music starts? Did you also know that bees have a second stomach just for honey? Find out these and other interesting facts on this episode of Bee Buzzards.

March 26th, 2018 • Welp, not even a Spring blizzard could stop Episode 42, however it did do a great job delaying its arrival. A Spring blizzard is about as rare as Nada Surf playing ‘Popular’ live, or Radiohead playing ‘Creep’, or Song Buzzards releasing an episode on schedule. This episode we talk about how album covers make all the difference, and discover that bonus points are awarded if the music has tempo changes, or makes you feel like you’re in danger. Also, we learn that Devon’s dog hates Apple and Spotify, Devon’s pronunciation sucks, and that Devon loves the name Darlene. We learn nothing about Cory.
Dingus. - Husband Material (5:31)
JAGUWAR - Slow and Tiny (13:55)
Small Circle - Stuartess (22:17)

March 1st, 2018 • You guys! It’s Season 3! Music still exists, and therefore, so must Song Buzzards. Who will be the INHEAVEN and Charly Bliss of 2018? Well, bust out your Radel Tanpura Box and play along with us, as we pack Coen Brothers references into the first 8 songs of the year. Devon discovers that he accidentally made a fire-themed playlist, Cory can’t stop cussing, and we talk about how some songs are just “more favorite” than others. We have a lot in store for Season 3, and it begins today with a brand new closing segment born out of Devon’s newfound vinyl obsession. So enjoy the beginning of the new Season. We’ll try to make it our best one!

December 8th, 2017 • Here it is. The episode before the episode. Before we nail down our top albums of 2017, one more batch of artists try and squeak in at the last minute. Is it possible that this far into Season 2, Devon could stumble over the name of our own podcast? Is it possible that we’ll find the crunchiest album ever? Is it possible that Devon’s dog sent us back in time during the recording of this episode? I’d bet 7 American dollars that all of these things are possible. Actually, going back in time would help explain the enormous amount of past Song Buzzards artist references you’ll be hearing as you listen this week. So press play already, and enjoy the last batch of songs until our Best of 2017!

Nervous Dater - Bad Spanish (13:42)

Jagged Jaw - Can It Wait Until Tomorrow? (34:35)
November 17th, 2017 • Welcome to the last episode until Thanksgiving! Before sitting down for that nice turkey dinner, join us on Song Buzzards, where it happens to be raining tacos this week. Keeping with that food theme, we discuss Pitchpork, the famous pig-based music review website. Straying from that food theme, we discuss the uncertain existence of the Chattanooga Indians, how we can start a tribe of Chattanooga Indians, and the respect you must show for the Chattanooga Indians. Along with these surprisingly Thanksgiving-themed topics, we uncover a Tetris wiz, investigate how an 80’s band could get their name from a 00’s band, and determine that you either love Taylor Swift, or you’re a liar.
The episode is a solid 4 out of 6.

November 1st, 2017 • Happy November! In this, the month of giving thanks, Song Buzzards is thankful for the artists out there that make our podcast great. This episode is what we are all about: finding those artists, and bringing them to you when they aren’t getting the love they deserve. We challenged ourselves this week to find worthy artists with the least monthly plays on Spotify. Who won the challenge? Was it Cory, with his love of creepy music videos, Wheatus, and the Doug theme song? Or did Devon pull himself away from his Savage Garden albums, bike trips, and fuzzball dog in time to secure a victory? You’ll have to listen to find out!
Aaron Abernathy - Am I Good Enough to Love? (1:38)
Holy Fawn - Dim (9:54)

October 13th, 2017 • An episode released on Friday the 13th? In October? How spooky can you get? Will every sentence in this description end with a question mark? Are Devon and Cory getting a cold at the same time? Is Devon’s dog the fastest land animal in Pennsylvania? Can someone direct me towards the Hip-Hop? Could rat-tails become a respected hairstyle? Is “Stadium Indie Rock” a genre? Do people still watch “The Real World”? Would you travel to Pittsburgh to watch a band perform without their singer? If Joe Satriani and John Tesh were in a band, what would it sound like? Are any of these questions asked or answered during this episode? Why haven’t you pressed play yet?
The Wild Wind - Sail Away (7:54)
INHEAVEN - Vultures (17:37)
Ceschi - Beyond The End (28:08)

September 27th, 2017 • Do you hear that? No, it isn’t the jingle of Luna’s collar (yes it is), it’s a new Song Buzzards episode! The first annual Cory’s Birthday Podcast is upon us, where we find out that zeros, fives, and sevens may hurt you depending on who you are, and that our “So Good!” tally is much higher than all of those numbers combined. This week’s episode will transport you to the land of Happy Tron, where Sister Hazel can be heard in the distance, and where Maple Bucks can get you everything you need. If that doesn’t sound like the perfect end to Summer, I don’t know what will.
Pep Love - Whatchu’ Need (4:48)

September 1st, 2017 • Here’s something you don’t see much during the summer: A new Song Buzzards episode! Not even Devon’s puppy burying the remains of who-knows-what could delay a new episode this time, as the Buzzards strap in and bring you all the warble you can handle. This week’s episode uncovers the fine line between Michael J. Fox movies, the ruthlessness of the music industry, and most importantly, the similarities between Koala Coins and Hobbit Dollars. Also, remember when we said Pitchfork can only be trusted sometimes? We found 2 of those times.
Pkew Pkew Pkew - Asshole Pandemic (3:36)

August 16th, 2017 • We’re back, baby, with an extra song each and yet another haunt-themed episodes (probably because Cory wants to be a ghost)! This week’s episode features a song about haunting friends, as well as one that’s recorded in a haunted studio. Cory seemingly makes up every name he utters (Cam LaFlam, seriously?), steals a perfectly timed Irish banana joke, and feels like a bad ass (even while washing dishes). Devon gets a new pup, ruins the ending of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for Cory (spoilers!), and reveals that his 7-year old may be having an existential crisis (3rd grade is one grade closer to death, after all). They both fail in their Star Wars knowledge (what’s a Han?) and agree that NPR is an organization made up of dirty sons of bitches.
Also, did you know that guitars are the medium to discuss humanity’s doom?
Tiny Deaths - The Gardener (4:34)
Eisley - A
July 21st, 2017 • Last week had a haunted cabin, this week has witches. Maybe we are on a Scooby-Doo episode after all? In the newest Song Buzzards installment, Cory is glad he can wear deodorant again, while Devon dabbles in ASMR. The science behind music is a constant theme here, while the Buzzards try everything scientifically possible to stop saying “SO GOOD” so much. So sit back, crank up Song Buzzards on the ol’ dubya-dubya-dubya, and daydream about how many Eiffel Tower bucks it would take for Kyle to make a repeat guest appearance. Enjoy!
Siobhan Wilson - Whatever Helps (4:54)
Glass Vaults - Brooklyn (15:06)

July 7th, 2017 • I know that episode title may sound like a Scooby-Doo episode, but rest assured, the Buzzards are safe and sound. Kyle is our guest this week, purple headphones and all! Join the trio as they decide whether Canada is the best or worst place on Earth, discover that stuffed animals are made from real animals, and determine the best way to smuggle heroin: ORANGES. Cory invents a new genre (dreamo), Devon finds out what a slide guitar is called (a slide guitar), and Kyle comes bearing gifts (Fruity Dabs). Happy Independence Day!

June 22nd, 2017 • And so here we are, the momentous Episode 30. After a successful father’s day weekend, the Buzzards unwind with some 120-minute beer and some 94 minutes of podcasting. Another successful challenge means that 2 unknown labels with 4 unknown bands join this week’s list, which may or may not include a Zimbabwean marimba band. Devon talks about being a privileged white man, Cory cheats on the challenge, but neither of them spend any Kangaroo Bucks to bring you this landmark Song Buzzards installment.
