It's Chriisstmaaassss! And yess! Love - Lust - Actually, honestly is all around. In this movie at least. It's a classic, a cultural icon, a staple in many's Christmas viewing and tradition. And it's actually, shite! Hugh Grant's opening monologue is infamous, but did he have to mention 9/11? And call his secretary / love interest fat all the time? And what about Alan Rickmans character, that's not about love! Or the guy that goes to America? That's just straight up lust!
Anyway... anyway... we hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year. We will be BACK! With more cringe, more guff, and more rogues. Thank you so much to all that have listened in 2023, we hope to have your ears again in 2024.

If you couldn't already tell, Sorry I Don't have a real affinity to Vampires. It's kind of ridiculous. Which goes hand-in-hand with this film. And perhaps all Vampire films in general! With a star-studded cast, this film is like marmite. You either love it, or you hate it. And that's what Claude, Abby, and Swanny are here to decide on!

What is there to say about Tall Girl... Netflix, start making better films, eh. Our discussion today focuses on how being tall isn't an issue. Jodie, the main character, isn't even that tall. American High School movie tropes are ridiculous. Foreign exchange students? Does this even happen in real life? And carrying a milk crate around as your backpack... shocking!
Honestly, this film is ridiculous. It's like a Hallmark version of High School Musical, without all the things that make High School Musical a great film.

As Claude's dad said "Highlander was dated as soon as it was released." - Not far from the truth at all. In this weeks episode, Claude, Abby and Swanny discuss and analyse the ridiculous notions of highlander. From Sean Connery, playing an Spaniard from Egypt, to Christopher Lambert not knowning how to speak English until only a few months before shooting.
They all lose their minds when the ending is revealed to be mortality for the originally immortal Highlander. Not that he ever really "was" immortal. Just chop is fat heed off.
The Kurgin, aka Mr Krabs, is for most of the film, it's saving grace. And no, it has nothing to do with Aliens...

The Dune we all don't know, and don't love. David Lynch's 1984 takes on one of the most seminal pieces of sci-fi literature ever. A novel that captured the imaginations and theorising for generations to come. That set in motion the importance of sci-fi, and how it can be just as nerdy as it is a social commentary on what is happening in the world around us. An analysis of religious texts, prophesies, capitalism, and the ideas of legacy and integrity. A giant in it's field. As complex as it is deep and mysterious.
Who better to take on such a deep, complex narrative, interweaving dreams of past and future events, than David Lynch? Right?.... Literally anyone else.
Listen to our thoughts, as we try and scramble through the Dune plotline without getting too bogged down in detail. Watch Abby try and grapple with Paul's storyline, already bizarre and fusing real life and biblical prophies, made even more confusing by Lynch's directing and script.
