We're back after a summer break! We pick up today with Acts chapter 11.
I hope you are encouraged today as we see how the gospel was now being shared with the Gentiles. I am so grateful for God sharing the gospel with me as a Gentile, that through IT, I have the opportunity to come boldly before the throne and receive grace in time of need.
Can I get an "Amen"?

he prayed...
God intervened...
God answered his prayer.

When I read the story of Paul, I sometimes miss the fact that my testimony is very benign. There was no bright light, there was no voice of God.
But when I think of all the opportunities I had (and still do have) to give up, I keep choosing Jesus every day, every situation, every trial. I know that my faith is truly a miracle, and your story is a true miracle too, my friend.
Listen is as Saul is off to Damascus to throw those troublesome Christ-followers into prison, and see what God had to say about this and how this changed the trajectory of the new church.

What happens to people when they listen to what the Holy Spirit is telling them to do? Today we see what happens with Philip as he brings the gospel message to Samaria.
We also see what happens when man tries to buy the free gift of God.
And finally, if the Spirit told you to get up and go to the desert in the heat of the day, would you go? Philip did, so listen in and follow along in Acts chapter 8 today.

Hear about Stephen, the first recorded martyr for the sake of Christ after the resurrection.
In his defense testimony, he is well-prepared, and well-versed in the scriptures. We hear of the faith of Abraham, Joseph, and how he defends himself against charges of blasphemy against God and the temple.
I hope you enjoy our first Face to Face devotion.

In Acts Chapter, we see the first uprising, the first sense of protest, or discontent in the church. But we see how the power of the Holy Spirit works through the apostles and how their devotion to prayer leads and guides them to make a crowd-pleasing move.
We also meet Stephen and hear of his faith and how the Jewish leaders are at it again using the same accusations they used with Jesus.
Follow along as we talk about how having zeal can help you win a debate, and be encouraged to seek the filling of the Holy Spirit daily.
How can a simple prayer for more of the Spirit help catapult a "sub-standard" life into victorious Christian living? Listen today and find out!

What does being too busy have to do with what you say and what you do? Join me today as we look at Acts chapter 5. We will look at one couple that God makes an example out of their conniving and lying.
Listen as I share my own personal testimony of dealing with anger and how God turned that around in my life.
Be encouraged as I share how spending time reading the word of God and meeting with Jesus every day can help you be better prepared to give an answer and to encourage others around you.

This episode, we look at Acts chapter 4. Some of the main themes we discuss are :
Once again, pay attention to who God places in front of you! Do you have a captive audience?
Pray for a continual filling of the Holy Spirit - to give you boldness and the words to say.
Pray for unity in the band of believers for us to gather and pray as one, as one soul - that God may rock our gatherings with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. That the gospel would go forward, change lives, add members to the church, and show the power of Christ with signs and wonders.

This week, we will begin to see the disciples go out and begin their ministry, much as we saw Jesus do when He began his ministry on earth. And the first miracle we see is the healing of the lame man.
“Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
And on verse 11, the lame man was clinging to Peter and John, wouldn’t you hold on to those you thought were responsible for enabling you to walk after 40 plus years of being lame? Looking at the Strong’s concordance for the Greek word for this “clinging” this word for “hold” or cling is interpreted that the man wanted to hold on to Peter and John in a way that he might follow them, and not be sent away. Their Christianity was contagious and this man was not letting them out of his grasp.
And “all the people ran together to them in Solomon’s porch, greatly amazed”. Can you imagine the chaos? Here is the man you would most likely pass on a regular basis who was always asking for financial support at the gate, and now you see him standing upright, shaking two other men and shouting praise to God.
What if we reached out to someone on the way to church. We shared the name of Jesus, and they found forgiveness of sins and the power of Jesus entered into their life. Would you let this person hop in your car and would you take them to church?

What happens when believers gather in unity and in agreement? Well, in the 2nd chapter of Acts, God poured out His promise of Holy Spirit upon the new church.
Today, I ask myself some hard questions! How do I respond when I am not in agreement with others? How is God using His word to grow my faith? What was it like to have heard Peter deliver His first message to the church, preaching the gospel, Jesus - His death and resurrection?

This week we look at Acts chapter 1, and we see Peter, after his three denials, and then his three confessions of love for Christ, how he takes the leadership of the new church.
We also reflect about Judas. Have you ever thought about Judas in that he had so much anguish and was so distressed over selling out his soul to betray Christ, that he took drastic measures?
Do you know someone like that? Maybe someone who is hopeless, feeling like they are trapped with no way out? Is it you that might be able to bring them Jesus? To show them a way to live with the power and hope of the Holy Spirit?
Imagine That!

He has come as a light, and those who believe in Him do not walk in the darkness.
Now, let’s think about what is so bad about walking in darkness. First of all, you can’t really see where you are going, right? Not sure where to put your feet, not sure what you are going to bump into, not sure if someone (or something) is standing in the darkness ready to attack, and this says nothing to the fact that if you are walking in the darkness, you cannot see the beauty that is around you.

In sharing this message, I am sharing what is the difference between having Jesus in your life, or not! Life with Jesus is not easy street! We know that from James, we will encounter trials and tribulations, but life with Jesus is communicating through prayer, worship, quiet time, it is knowing the hope we have, that despite the struggles, this… this relationship, this un-ending love relationship, this is living. If you don’t have Jesus, this is what you are missing.. You are on your own.
If I’m hurting, I know that there are others out there that are hurting, and maybe you’re hurting today, maybe things aren’t going well - maybe you’re sick, maybe you are broke, or alone… I am here to tell you today about the hope of Jesus, because maybe this is the time that one person needs to hear that Jesus did not leave us to do it alone.

7 Truths of for the Week as we follow Jesus's earthly journey to the cross.
1. Seeking out ways to get money for the love of it, steals your heart!
2. When you are seeking to worship Him, Jesus comes to your defense.
3. God was glorified in the raising of Lazarus, as the people told this story over and over, it was a huge part of the reason they all came and worshipped Jesus as He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.
4. Be the grain of wheat that dies to itself in order to produce a great harvest.
5. The exponential love of Jesus - "He loves them to the last and to the highest degree."
6. Jesus loves all people, but the dynamics of this love relationship change with response, when the people love Him back.
7. Jesus is the Light, and encourages people to walk by the Light, it is His very last public message to those on earth.
Jesus begins in John chapter 10 again explaining His relationship with us as sheep and the Shepherd. He claims He knows His sheep, so if you belong to Him, isn’t it comforting to know that He KNOWS you?
How does Jesus defend Himself against the charge of blasphemy? There are a few ways we see Him do that.
Jesus could have dropped what He was doing and ran to Mary and Martha and healed their brother Lazarus, but He did not. He knew the greater outcome. He knew that death did not have any more power over Him than sickness.
Are you dealing with grief in your life? Loss of a loved one, divorce, are you grappling to maintain some sort of control? Today I share a testimony of hanging on to God through decades of rejection. As I saw the grief of Mary touch Jesus, I saw Jesus being touched by my grief from a rejected child to a rejected wife. I saw His tears for me.
Reach out today and let us know if you have been blessed by our message.
