Nancy Quinn was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, but has lived in many areas of the country. She is an internationally known wildlife artist whose work is noted for its detail and accuracy, and she is the recipient of two World Wildlife Art Championship awards. Nancy has always had a love of animals and nature. After college, she worked as a conservation law enforcement duty officer for the state of Florida. She volunteered her spare time at wildlife rehabilitation centers, bringing their birds and reptiles into the schools to educate children of all ages. Over the years she has handled many domestic and exotic species, including cougars, leopards, and tigers, and always had interesting stories to tell about her encounters with wild animals. Upon leaving a suburban lifestyle in the metro Washington, DC area, to live in rural Montana, she discovered a new world of exciting and unusual adventures. Encouraged by friends and family alike, she wrote her first book, "Go West, Young Woman!" She now happily resides on a mountainside in Montana with her husband, daughters, dogs, and horses, where she continues to paint and write about her experiences living in the still wild west.
When Carrick Felix stands in front of his audience as a motivational speaker, he begins by sharing the personal snapshots of his life. The teachers who said he’d never graduate high school, and the bullies who persisted because how easy it was to pick on the then-pipsqueak. The nights sleeping in his car while a student-athlete at Arizona State University, and the night he almost lost basketball
After being a corporate trainer for fifteen years, our next guest went into shock when she got remarried and was trying to blend 2 households, 4 kids, 2 dogs and several guinea pigs. Luckily, she saw the humor in it all and wrote The Amy Binegar-Kimmes-Lyle Book Of Failures. The funny memoir opens with "I've been married for twenty years, not to the same people, but twenty years nonetheless." The book has been a best seller on Amazon for over a year, sitting next to some of her heroes like Trevor Noah, David Sedaris, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Jenny Lawson. Amy enjoys being public speaking on the topic, "Why I Shared My Most Mortifying Moments and Why You Should Too," which has a message of seeing the humor in our failures and being more authentic in a very filtered world. She's a regular on Atlanta's popular morning show, Atlanta and Company, and is a frequent guest on radio and podcasts. She just starred in her first movie short, The Interviewers. The film was written and directed by Atlanta filmmaker Sam Juergens. Amy's own film, #FakeMom, which is a Bridesmaids meets Bad Moms female-centric comedy is in development with Executive Producer Suzanne Jurva. Lee St. John started writing publically in 1970 for her hometown paper by delivering the School News events from the only high school in the county. Then majoring in Public Relations/Journalism in college, Lee St. John again wrote for the newspaper during her summer breaks. After she married and stayed home with her children, she was asked again to write a part-time society column. Impressed by her writing skills, her publisher mentioned to her that one day she should write a book. And here it is: SHE’S A KEEPER! Cockamamie Memoirs from a Hot Southern Mess. This is not Lee’s first attempt at publishing a book. Her self-published book is entitled, SHE’S A KEEPER! Funny Teacher Stories from Real Southern Classrooms. With the stigma now removed for independent publishing. Lee began publishing her own material two years ago and then a conventional publisher found her marketing her book and reached out. Before, staying abreast of marketing (website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, speaking engagements, radio, and newspaper, etc.), formatting, choosing a cover, editing (a lot!), pricing, distributing, and just finding time to write, took up all her time. Now, a traditional publisher is supporting her and although she still is involved in decision making and leg work, there are others doing the same to help her so she spends more time with her humor writing. A Georgia Peach, Lee St. John has been married to her Southern gentleman for 35 years. They have two Millennial sons and a tater-tot-looking white Schnauzer named OBie.CONNECT WITH LEE!
