He shares some highlights from his time out West, what made the trip memorable, and why there's just something good for the soul about getting away to the mountains. But getting home? That's a different story. What should've been a fairly routine trip back to Tennessee turned into a travel nightmare involving delay after delay after delay. Chris walks Winston through the entire saga, including the increasingly ridiculous number of flight delays, the frustration of being at the mercy of the airlines, and the moment when you start wondering if you're ever actually going to make it home. It's mountains, travel chaos, a few good stories, and plenty of laughs along the way. Have a question you'd like us to answer on the show? Maybe a topic you want us to discuss? Buy a Southern Gentlemen hat and support the show! Watch this episode on YouTube! Chris is back from the mountains of Northern California, and he's got some stories to tell. This week, he recaps his trip to JH Ranch for Men's Week - several days with no cell phone, plenty of time in the wilderness, and a group of men who share a desire to know God more deeply. Chris tells Winston about the experience of cutting down a tree the old-fashioned way (no chainsaw allowed), a grueling hike into the mountains that led to 24 hours completely alone in the wilderness, and the powerful, emotional encounter he had with God the Creator while he was there. Of course, it wasn't all serious. There were plenty of funny moments along the way, too. The guys wrap up the episode by sharing a timely email from a listener about one of the hardest things we're called to do as parents: surrendering our children to God, trusting that He loves them even more than we do. Buy a Southern Gentlemen hat and support the show! This week, Chris and Winston take some time to remember and celebrate the life of Dolly Parton - a true Tennessee treasure whose impact reached far beyond country music. The guys share some great Dolly stories, reflect on her unmistakable wit and generosity, and talk about the remarkable way she remained deeply connected to her East Tennessee roots throughout her life. They also reflect on Dolly's faith, her love for God, and the way she so often used her success to serve and encourage others. From the songs and stories to Dollywood and the Imagination Library, her legacy is one of talent, kindness, humor, generosity, and a genuine love for people. It's a Southern Gentlemen tribute to one of the most beloved Southerners of all time - a woman who never seemed to forget where she came from, and made the world a little brighter because of it.
