In our fallen nature, we all struggle with desire to control—our lives, our righteousness, even our destiny. Like King Saul, we attempt to wrestle control from God through partial obedience and denial of responsibility, but if left unconfessed, sin takes control of us. Our only hope is not in more control but in surrender to our Saviour King, Jesus Christ.
Among the three great Christian virtues of faith, hope, and love, hope tends to be the forgotten one. And yet, it has a prominent place in Romans 8 and plays a vital role in the Christian life. What is hope? What are we hoping for? And what does it feel like to live with hope? Listen as Pastor Josh explains.
What does a distinctly Christian approach to suffering look like? A common approach is to minimize suffering, knowing that it will ultimately be resolved in God's perfect plan. But Scripture doesn't do that. It carefully shepherds us through the dark depths of our suffering before leading us to the heights of future glory with Christ. It will be a glory that includes the redemption of all creation. Listen as Pastor Josh unpacks these verses about great suffering and greater glory.
Many Christians know what it means to pursue "assurance of salvation", but how many are familiar with the "assurance of adoption"? The Apostle Paul teaches us that the gospel doesn't just save us from judgment. It also saves us for adoption. It is not until we have this assurance that we begin to experience the fullness of joy of the Christian life. Listen as Pastor Josh explains.
The mortification of sin was considered to be an essential discipline in the Christian life by the Reformers, and yet many believers today don't even know what this means. What does it mean to mortify sin, and why does it matter? Listen as Pastor Josh teaches on how we put our sin to death by the power of the Holy Spirit.
As we prepare for Pastor Timon and others from our church to depart for pastors college, listen as Pastor Josh takes us through Acts 20:17-38 on why doing a hard thing for the Kingdom and trusting in our sovereign God is worthwhile.
What role does the Holy Spirit play in our lives today? In this sermon, Pastor Josh explains the role of the Holy Spirit in transferring believers from the old realm "in Adam" to the new realm "in Christ", and how this results in a new ability and power to fulfill the righteous requirements of God's Law.
What is the greatest gift that you could possibly give to your mother? Some may say a dream house. Others may say a once-in-a-lifetime vacation or a meaningful expression of love and gratitude. The Bible says that what will bring the most joy to your mother is not something you can give. It's something you must become. You must become wise. Listen as Pastor Josh explains from the Book of Proverbs.
Are you a Christian who has struggled with the assurance that your sins are forgiven, or that you are loved by God, or that you have truly been set free from sin? If so, you are not alone. Every Christian has these struggles, and God's remedy to these struggles is the indwelling presence and ministry of the Holy Spirit. Listen as Pastor Josh introduces this glorious chapter about the Holy Spirit's work of assurance.
What happens when we don't trust God to be who he says he will be or do what he has promised to do? Come listen in as Pastor Timon finishes our series on the Ten Commandments.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ was the most life-changing event in all history for all humanity. Whether it actually changes our lives or not depends on how we respond to it. Will we resist? Will we doubt? Or will we worship? Listen as Pastor Josh shows us how all three responses were present in the immediate aftermath of the resurrection, and what they can teach us about our own responses to the resurrected Christ.
We are living in what has been called "an epidemic of loneliness and isolation." In many nations, loneliness is considered to be a public health crisis. Jesus Himself experienced a profound moment of loneliness on the cross that the world has never seen or will see again. And yet, it is His loneliness that holds the remedy to our loneliness. Listen as Pastor Josh teaches on the loneliness of our Saviour and the difference that it makes to our lives.
Jesus’ teachings and actions continually surprised those who heard and saw Him. Through the image of a banquet, He revealed just how radically different His Kingdom is; one that welcomes and values those the world often overlooks. Join Pastor Jim Donohue as he unpacks what kind of Kingdom community Jesus is building, and the invitation He extends to each of us to take part in it.
Listen as Pastor Mark Prater takes us through some of the characteristics of the spritual gifts, with an emphasis on the gifts of healing, distinguishing between spirits and prophesy.

Listen as he identifies seven features of the apostolic church from this text and explains what it would look like for these features to be practiced today.
