Description

Corporate crookedness. Family feuding. Hilariously half-baked decisions. Host Lauren Ober tackles some of the most spectacular business failures of all time, and what could have been done to avoid them. Some of these stories are shocking. Some are funny. Some are just downright sad. But each one will give you a totally new perspective on big business… and big failure. From American Public Media and the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

The snarky remarks are what make this podcast fantastic! If it were a straightforward history lesson on unfortunate business failures, it would be depressing. A lot of these are laugh or cry situations, and I appreciate that we can laugh! Fascinating history with a side of dumb "dad" jokes, for the win! This is like a SparkNotes comedy version of American History Tellers, in the very best way. Keep your humor, keep your enthusiasm, and keep talking as fast as you want. I love it and I'm here to stay!

Nothing personal, but the narrator tries to be funny/snarky, without success. Also, too scripted. Please try and sound more natural. Otherwise, good content.

Cooper Scott Yes, I agree that the content is good. I personally think stories about failures are more relatable than stories about success, and was glad I found this podcast. It's just that the narrator's style is not for me. I have to make an effort to finish each episode, as I cringe over forced attempts to sound funny.

I wish you wouldn't talk so fast it makes it hard to understand you sometimes.

D.L. George I have that problem sometimes too, so a helpful suggestion: you can change the playback speed of the podcasts to go slower (or faster). just tap the slider icon, the second one at the top right of the player screen, and it will pop up options to boost volume, trim the silent playback after a show ends, and change the playback speed. hope this helps!
