Erin shared her creative therapy model that breaks down negative stereotypes in the "Real" world for those individuals who work through the brain/body connection every day. I asked Erin to explain ner business model, here is her reply; "Bringing what I have to offer as an occupational therapist, as a human, as a mindful practitioner, and a yoga practitioner, all these things that I brought together to the families I serve, the clients that I serve, in whatever environment feels the best for them, as well as the environment they want to feel really great in."https://www.sunrisetherapiesinc.com/https://www.spinal-network.org/links-to-listen-to-our-podcast/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzyVPKeADAc
I was looking forward to my conversation with Michaela Devins and Lindsey Elliott on the topic of Mental Health. Great information and valuable resources. As the title says, it's ok to not be ok.
This was such a fun podcast, James, Chelsea and I talked about the documentary, "Reinventing the Wheel". This in my opinion is the best documentary on life with a spinal cord injury and that dreaded rookie year. There were lots of laughs and some heartfelt stories.
My guests today were Kenny Salvini (C3-4) and Ian Mackay (C2-3) from the great state of Washington. We talked about Ian's project, Ians Ride as well as the Here and Now Project of which Kenny is co-founder with Ian. We discussed the impact of assistive technology on their lives and the independence it brings. There are a few funny moments, it wouldn't be a conversation with them if there weren't.https://www.iansride.com/https://www.hereandnowproject.org/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCynB1FbMh4
