And now it's time to say goodbye. Thank you so much to Megan for commissioning this episode, and for commissioning the lion's share of the show. Thanks also to all of you who have chipped in along the way to ensure that I got to the end. I'm so glad that I got to experience this with you all. This special was a really great way to say goodbye, and I'm looking forward to seeing some performances that were apparently cut from the final episode. I will miss these characters so much and I really can't wait to see what Rachel Bloom gets up to next. Thanks again to you all for listening, and I will see you around!
Thank you so much to Megan who commissioned this episode and also commissioned a live watch! I can't believe the story is over (well, it's not over at all, but you know what I mean). This was a deeply satisfying finale and I'm so happy with how everything shook out in the end. I wasn't sure what direction they were going to go in, but I decided to have faith and it paid off. This is just what I wanted. Thank you all again so much for listening, and stay tuned for one last farewell episode before we bid the series goodbye.
Thank you so much to Megan for commissioning this episode! This is the second-to-last episode and the next one is called I'm In Love and I am DYING to find out who Rebecca picks. Because there's a sort of vibe here that the show is leaning towards Greg and really...I just don't want that? I think everyone here needs to be single for a while longer, honestly. And Rebecca feels like she's barely got her feet under her at this point. Also....weird Al is here!
Thank you to Megan for commissioning this episode! This episode was a lot of fun, and a much-needed regroup with the Girl Gang considering how close we are to the end of the show. It's interesting to see how this show injects zaniness now that Rebecca isn't the main source of dysfunction anymore, and I think this worked out really beautifully. Also, I am interested in Paula's new job and getting to see her succeed, and I really wish that we were going to have more time to watch that happen. Thank you so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Megan for commissioning this episode! This episode is the one where Rebecca decides to join a community musical theatre review, and she is a little startled to revisit her old favorites and realize how poorly they've aged. I CAN RELATE, REBECCA. Meanwhile, her boys are all doing various things to bring her closer, with varying levels of success. Who am I rooting for? Am I rooting for anyone? Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Jacqui for commissioning this episode! This episode is the one where Paula is trapped in the hospital while desperate to get out and take the bar exam, and Rebecca is trying to help while also realizing that she needs to start asking herself what she really wants out of life. Thanks for listening, and I will see you again very soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Megan for commissioning this episode! This is the one where Paula has a very long, drawn-out heart attack, and yet insists on continuing to plug away all day because she's a maniac. Can't relate. Also, Rebecca is faced with the specter of abandonment, and she doesn't cope super well because she has gotten lax on her work. It doesn't go super well...but in the end, she makes the right choice. Thanks so much for listening!
Thank you to Megan for commissioning this episode! When I realized this was going to be a Nathaniel-centric episode I was very unsure how I would feel about it, but it turns out that this was actually a fun episode. I really liked the handling of his expectation that he can DO something to get her back, and I loved Rebecca's reaction to hearing about his daydream. Thanks so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Megan for commissioning this episode! This is the one in which Rebecca and Greg get back together while she's babysitting Daryl's kid. Also, Paula is hosting a totally not-important game night that is certainly not to celebrate an achievement of hers or anything like that. Thanks for listening!
Thank you to Tegan for commissioning this episode! This episode is when Rebecca decides that she really needs to get some play, but unfortunately runs into some gynecological issues that complicate things. Meanwhile, Nathaniel and Greg run into one another at the gym and become friends. Thanks so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Lauren for commissioning this episode! So unfortunately the live-watch of this episode didn't go as planned, but I can understand why so many of you wanted one. This is the one in which Greg comes back....kind of. He's been recast, and as I learn during the recording, that was mostly for practical reasons due to availability of the original actor. However, they turned it into a metaphor which honestly is a smart move. However, I'm going on record: this Greg sucks. Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you so much to Lauren for commissioning this episode!I talk for a while in this one about the pluses and minuses of letting your characters grow when so much of the comedy is reliant on them all being giant messes. There are any number of ways you can handle that in a script, but I'm not totally sure that I'm loving watching some of these arcs as much anymore, and I feel bad about that. That said, I really did like this episode because it's Rebecca establishing boundaries in a way that feels so important, despite the fact that her mother isn't SUPER receptive. Also, the whole thing with Josh causes me to RANT. So get ready for that. Thank you all again for listening, and I will see you again soon with a new episode!
Thank you ever so much to Megan for commissioning this episode! While I wasn't a major fan of the musical number for this episode (Trapped In A Car does, at least, succeed in conveying the feeling of being trapped!) I actually rather liked the overall structure of it. However, I also had some major problems with it and I felt a certain WAY about a certain scene with a certain mustachioed man, and I'm gonna stand by that. Also, there's a whole thing with Nathaniel and I guess we're still doing this whole thing. Idk. Fine. Thanks again so much to all of you for listening, and I will see you again soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Collette for commissioning this episode! This is a fun episode to me, although I will just say here that Owen wasn't really a fan...but what does he know, anyway? This could have gone in a few different directions, and it still might, but the crux of the matter is that Rebecca's friends are all moving on to new phases of their lives and she's not. She can handle this (or not) in a multitude of ways, and what she chooses is trying to pretend that she's young a hip and it's sooooo embarrassing. While that's going on, we've got Paula dealing with the fact that the son she's finally feeling closer to is suddenly not only moving out, but leaving the country altogether. I really loved this development and I am eager to see what her other son gets up to. Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you very much to Megan for commissioning this episode! This is a pretty fun one, because we get a new character (granted, I don't expect to see him again) who really gives us the vibes of Rebecca as youngster? And not just because he stole her diary and is quoting her back to herself the whole time? Meanwhile, I'm a big fan of how she dumps Nathaniel. GOOD FOR YOU, GIRL. Thanks again for listening, and I will be seeing you all again soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Megan for commissioning this episode! I'm really excited about this episode because Rebecca is finally coming to the realization that being a lawyer just does not make her happy. It's a massive change to have followed a prescribed plan of education and career for over a decade, perhaps even two, and then suddenly decide it's not actually what you want. It's enough of an upheaval that most people do not decide to do it, and I admire Rebecca having the guts to do something else. But I am worried about the money! And also in this episode, Heather and Hector get married and it's honestly really sweet and adorable and I'm super happy for them. Yay!Thanks so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thanks to Megan for commissioning this episode! This is the first Halloween episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and I guess it must also be the last, but they really did a great job with the themes of fear and being haunted. I really loved this one, and I love "Do The Cringe" because I'll be damned if I'm not haunted by shit that I said and did every hour of every damn day. I hope that you all enjoy listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Nicole for commissioning this episode! So we're into Season 4 now, and it looks like this is going to be quite a ride. I really appreciate the show's acknowledgement that Rebecca is in an absurdly privileged position within this whole situation, and that for her this is some kind of Eat, Pray, Love personal journey shit while there are people who have had their lives destroyed. I am totally into this whole thing with Josh trying to self-diagnose using online quizzes, because damn if that shit ain't for real. Thanks for listening, everyone, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Sofia for commissioning this episode! I had no idea this was the season finale episode, and I had quite a shock at the direction this episode took in the end. Damn but this was a real surprise. I am trying to imagine what will happen in the next episode and the next season, and all things considered I have no idea. But I can't wait to find out!Thank you so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
Thank you to Tegan for commissioning this episode! I'm actually delighted to see Trent again, because in a lot of ways he exhibits the same behavior as Rebecca except without the compunctions she had to stay looking a little more sane. Rebecca managed to get away with a lot because of that, but I like that she's on the receiving end for a change. However, I'm not a fan of the fact that she decided to lie to Paula YET AGAIN. C'mon, Rebecca, you're better than that. JUST TALK TO HER AND TELL HER THE WHOLE TRUTH. Anyway, thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!
