Based on Luke 6:20-31, Pastor Kathy's message encourages us to consider that "blessed" means that we have our hearts opened for the presence of God to guide us and direct us.  Jesus tells us that those who are blessed are the reverse of what we have come to see in these days; the poor, not the powerful.  We are called to reframe and redefine blessings; to understand that God calls us to take delight to the saints around us. Consider this idea from Professor Skinner from Luther Seminary about translating Jesus' woes into "Yikes!"   From Luke 6: 24-26. “But woe to you who are rich, "YIKES!"   for you have received your consolation.  25“Woe to you who are full now, "YIKES!"   for you will be hungry.  “Woe to you who are laughing now, "YIKES!"   for you will mourn and weep.   26“Woe to you when all speak well of you, "YIKES!" for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.

Garry Clark shared his story of faith with us as part of our Stewardship month.
Pastor Kathy's message based on 2 Timothy 2:1-14 continues our focus on our stewardship theme: Abundant Joy-Overflowing Generosity.
Pastor Kathy's sermon begins with a little help from friends to ferry water from her big bucket to the baptismal font. We can all look for ways to help each other. Next Sunday, students will be walking to support CROP. Plan to bring your gift to help others across the world.
