As men’s football heads into its first international break of the season, Musa and Ryan chat about Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Arsenal at Anfield, thanks to an unbelievable Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick (04:57). The victory all but sealed the title for Hansi Flick’s side, who can confirm it with a win at Espanyol on Thursday. I have rarely seen a more apt example of an Angry Goal than Vlahovic against Empoli.
France aren't actually playing negative football by choice at these Euros. The issue is that their entire attack is disfunctional. Mbappé has been terrible, even before the broken nose. Giroud gets no minutes and his legs may be gone. Thuram and Kolo Muani haven't been effective. Barcola gets no minutes because he's Mbappé's backup. Dembele has been the best of the bunch but no end product. And Griezmann, Deschamps' most important player, looks as tired as Kane does for England.
?? France have created far better goalscoring opportunities than Portugal have. Both statistically and based on the eye test. If Portugal stick to the predictable "long ball to CR7" over and over they have no chance.
Let's not kid ourselves here. The Saka/Palmer thing has little to do with tactics. There are 2 main lines on social media: Chelsea vs Arsenal banter brigades, and the somewhat more disturbing "Ian the race traitor" people.
