After a men’s international break that delivered some wonderfully joyful moments, the Eberechi Eze hat-trick for Arsenal, in his first North London derby, was up there. Musa and Ryan chat about Eze’s historic feat, during his childhood club’s 4-1 win over Spurs at the Emirates Stadium, which sent the Gunners six points clear. They then move on to the rest of the Premier League (22:54), including Chelsea moving up to second, Newcastle’s win over Manchester City and—while there’s a lot of chat about the Liverpool side of it—Nottingham Forest winning back to back games at Anfield for the first time in 62 years (29:02). Elsewhere, Milan won the Derby della Madonnina to go second behind Roma (41:17), Barcelona were back at Camp Nou and closed the gap after Real Madrid dropped more points (46:56) and there’s some chat about the Bundesliga and more (50:27).Don’t forget, the Champions League is back this week, so to listen to our two other episodes this week, sign up as a member at patreon.com/stadio.Finally, it’s less than a fortnight until our first show at the Southbank Centre in London, tickets are available here. For more podcasts each week, ad-free and in full, plus access to the Stadio Social Club and much more, become a Stadio member by going to patreon.com/stadio. 4:00 "He's lookig for a foul." "- It's not a foul" "No it's not. Absolutely not. For the record. Let me be clear. I'm NOT saying it was a foul." "- No." Gentlemen, it may be worth (re)watching this sequence again. Focus on Yamal's right foot, as well as Valverde's right foot. (Instead of his left leg.) Easy one to miss, but 💯% a foul.

I have rarely seen a more apt example of an Angry Goal than Vlahovic against Empoli.

France aren't actually playing negative football by choice at these Euros. The issue is that their entire attack is disfunctional. Mbappé has been terrible, even before the broken nose. Giroud gets no minutes and his legs may be gone. Thuram and Kolo Muani haven't been effective. Barcola gets no minutes because he's Mbappé's backup. Dembele has been the best of the bunch but no end product. And Griezmann, Deschamps' most important player, looks as tired as Kane does for England.

?? France have created far better goalscoring opportunities than Portugal have. Both statistically and based on the eye test. If Portugal stick to the predictable "long ball to CR7" over and over they have no chance.

Let's not kid ourselves here. The Saka/Palmer thing has little to do with tactics. There are 2 main lines on social media: Chelsea vs Arsenal banter brigades, and the somewhat more disturbing "Ian the race traitor" people.
