Memorial Church is the centerpiece of the Main Quad and was built by Jane Stanford in honor of her late husband, Leland Stanford Sr.
Stanford's world-class professors and low student-to-faculty ratio make the Stanford academic experience unique.
Designed to promote interdisciplinary work and research in engineering, the new Science and Engineering Quad was built as a modern analog of Stanford's original Main Quad.

This roundabout on Serra Street is framed by the Gates Computer Science Building, the Hewlett Teaching Center, and the Packard Electrical Engineering Building.
The main entrance to campus sits at the end of Palm Drive, with a large oval field leading to the Main Quad, some of Stanford's oldest and most impressive academic buildings.
Memorial Auditorium was dedicated in 1936 and serves as the campus' primary performing arts center. Hoover Tower is the tallest building on campus at 285 feet.

Encina Hall was the first dorm on campus-- both John Steinbeck and Herbert Hoover lived here.
The Knight Management Center houses the Graduate School of Business, one of the seven schools at Stanford.
The Arrillaga Alumni center is located across the street from Montag Hall, the home of the Office of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid.
The Visitor Center is open seven days a week and is located next to Stanford's athletic facilities.
