THE ALEX HORNE EPISODE

THE ALEX HORNE EPISODE

2020-12-1542:09

Jess and her band of disciples are back for another dose of Stars In Your Ears. Flying through the air on a magic sleigh singing and impersonating as they go, Christmas spirit is in high supply, somewhat too high... They of course end-up crashing onto the roof and evening falling through a chimney on someone's house! As luck would have it though it turned-out to be comedian Alex Horne's house who shares his favourite Christmas likes and dislikes!  We hear Alex compete for points during randomiser games, as well as joining in with Jess and the band on a Christmas Horne Section Cover. Jess and her band of disciples are back for another dose of Stars In Your Ears and if they are going to go around, singing and impersonating than they may as well make themselves useful and help to clean-up the 'mean streets' ...although rather than trust them with the task of fighting crime, everyone agreed it would be best if they got in a dust cart and went litter picking.  They of course end-up making EVEN MORE mess than there was to start with by crashing the dust cart into someone's house! As luck would have it though it turned-out to be comedian Sophie Duker's house who also happens to be pretty hot at an accent or two!  We hear why Sophie has a permanent 'telephone voice' and what she would sound like if she were Gretta Thunberg!  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. As our intrepid team of musical geniuses continue their Stars In Your Ears 'tour' - the gang hit some troubled waters when they find themselves in close proximity to comedian Jessica Fostekew's boat house! Talk soon turns to accents and impressions, as Ms Fostekew reveals a not too hidden talent in mimicry ... much to the distress of her mother and manages a sterling effort in this week's impression masterclass - it really is 'Berry' good. Jess and the band are BACK and one again cannot be trusted behind the wheel of a moving vehicle, as they manage this week to go into the side of comedian, Kiri Pritchard -Mclean's comedy club! Once the damage had been assessed there was just enough time to get into some musical comedy impressions (natch) and Kiri's masterclass in the nuances of the Welsh accent will have 'Llanfairpwll-gwyngyllgogerychwyrndrob' tripping off the tongue in NO time. As well as finding out who would win in a fight between Shirley Bassey or Katherine Jenkins, we also get a word-in from Melania Trump .... or it may have been fake Melania #5... THE AL MURRAY EPISODE

THE AL MURRAY EPISODE

2020-11-1040:40

The gang's all here as the curtain goes-up on another musical, impression filled-extravaganza of an episode! This week, Jess and her trusty band find themselves going off-piste - in more ways than one- when they literally run-into comedian Al Murray's house - which turned-out to be a stroke of luck, as Al was in just the right mood to chat about his comedy career and early interest in impressions! In today's episode, we learn that as a child, Al had more than a passing interest in mimicry and displays the BEST Dalek impression you'll hear this side of Doctor Who. We also learn that his character of The Pub Landlord came about purely by accident, aided and abetted by none-other than Harry Hill. And we find out that Jess' mum has a story or two of her own about Al.... goodness me! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. Learn more about your ad choices. Jess and the band are here again and even after crashing into and causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to the studio of Radio One's Arielle Free, she STILL agreed to come on the show! Arielle provides a stunning guest-turn, as she willingly gives us a pretty good Miley Cyrus impersonation, teaches the gang how to do the perfect Glaswegian accent and tells us how much music and radio has influenced her life and been a passion from a very early age. Plus, if you've always dreamed of a duet between Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton, then this is your lucky day ... ENJOY! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. THE MATT FORDE EPISODE

THE MATT FORDE EPISODE

2020-10-2731:56

Things take a spooky turn this week as Jess and the gang find themselves in a rather run-down fairground a few days before Halloween! After an incident on a ghost train, there was nothing for it, but to get the owner of the fair involved and would you believe it - the owner is none-other than comedian, presenter and Jess' 'Spitting Image' colleague - Matt Forde! What a stroke of luck that was. This means that talk could turn to how Matt's political comedy and impressions have formed through the years and Jess' diva demands on the 'Spitting Image' set, plus there's the usual music mayhem and merriment to be had. Welcome to The Romesh Ranganathan Episode! Jess and her merry(ish) men are back with another dose of singing silliness and joining them for this week's romp through an array of impressions and musical-might is none-other than comedian and sometimes Whitney Houston aficionado, Romesh Ranganathan! Most fans of Romesh will be aware that he has a keen interest in rap and has a previous career in the genre - but how well does that translate to being Sonia off EastEnders? Why does Romesh need to listen to Whitney Houston in the car? And how why does Jess' LuLu leave him utterly speechless? All of these questions - and more - are answered in this very podcast! Once you've listened and told your friends, then check out Romesh's new book 'As Good As It Gets' .... full info can be found here: https://www.romeshranganathan.co.uk/category/news/ If you’d like to request mash up or something special, or even get a shout out on the podcast then go to patreon.com/jessrobinson where you can get in touch, support us and receive all sorts of lovely special treats. oh man please please please stop singing. I'm sure it will be a good podcast but I can't listen to anymore of your singing. You can't sing, I know that hurts but the truth does hurt. When you do a cast without singing I'll be back, until then, bye .
