Description

Faithfully living out the great commission to make disciples of Jesus can feel overwhelming. Where do I begin with my lost family, friends, and neighbors? What should I say? What if they ask questions I don’t know the answer to? If you struggle to share the gospel joyfully, consistently, and confidently? You’re not alone. Take a journey with us as we engage in practical discussions on relationship evangelism, one step at a time! Stepping Stones is a new podcast of Living Hope Church in Shrewsbury, PA, hosted by one of our elders, Chris Repp.

How does the beauty and power of nature point us to God and give us a chance to share the gospel?? This week I record a walk discussing the natural world and evangelism. It's based on 3 scriptures, check them out- Job 12:7-10, Romans 1:20 and 2 Corinthians 4:6. I'd love to hear your feedback and experience on this episode to chris@findlivinghope.com (For BONUS points, email me your guess as to which of God's creatures interrupts me about 1/2 way through the episode)

This week we are starting a series about teens, young adults on evangelism. While there are big challenges in these years, there are also great opportunities. And the greatest is to plant seed and reach your friends and classmates with the gospel. Over the next few episodes, we will talk with teens, college students and others who work with students about it all. In this episode, I'm just going to review the stepping stones with students in mind. Then share some of my own struggles and wins from way back when I was a student too. Most of all, Living Hope, be praying for our students- that they would be filled with confidence, love and purpose of knowing Jesus and being salt and light to others!
In this episode, I discussed how to use a Bible study on the book of John to go deeper with a friend, family member, coworker, neighbor or classmate who is showing interest in Christianity. If you would like a copy of the study, please see me at church I would love to help you take the next step with someone in your life. This week I hope to encourage you to join us September 21 and help out at New freedom fest. Listen as Living Hope members share testimony of what it was like to serve last year, and sign up to help us this year too! New Freedom Fest Sign-Up
Based on last week's idea that we are Gospel Detectives sharing clues to God's plans with the world, this week Brian Krug, Craig Whiteford and I go deeper. We each share ways that personally the "clues" God has put in His world are tools for us to reach the lost with the gospel. Based on Paul's discussion of bringing to light God's mysterious plans in Ephesians 3. Message: Church Witness / Ephesians 3:10 / July 21, 2024
This is a devotional episode. On 7/21 I preached about embracing the Riches of Christ and sharing clues to the Mystery of God's plans with others. This episode goes a little deeper into those ideas from Ephesians 3. Enjoy. - Chris Repp Message: Church Witness / Ephesians 3:10 / July 21, 2024
This week, we are sharing the testimony Ron and Mark gave after returning from a missions trip to North Carolina. It's great to hear how short-term missions can create unity in a team and a platform to share the gospel with others.
This is week 2 of Brian and I talking with Craig Whiteford. He has been at Living Hope since the beginning and served the church in many ways. He also has a heart to connect Jesus with his passion for endurance racing (marathons and triathlons), and a burden to see the scourge of child trafficking come to an end! (Warning to parents: some of the topics discussed in this episode are sensitive) Referenced Link: www.gozoe.org Help end Child Trafficking!

In this episode, I got to speak with my dear sister Karen Speir. What a fun story she told. As a result of aquiring a stack of Our Daily Bread devotionals, she was able to bless 5 people in her daily life with a gift and a word about the love of Jesus. A great example of taking a steppingstones step, on purpose, to share Jesus! Resource: Discipleship and Training Karen mentions in this Episode
Far too often, when i have a chance to speak the gospel, or take a steppingstone step toward it, I say nothing (or think of what to say 30 seconds too late!) It's really frustrating! Here's some suggestions of how to "be prepared to give an answer" just in time to a friend, family member, neighbor, co-worker or classmate.
This week we talk with David Pinckney. He works for Acts 29 as a Regional Director for the North Atlantic and South East. He is also dad to 4 boys and a girl. One of those boys is our very own Isaac Pinckney. I've heard David speak a time or two, and knew he has a heart for the church to love and reach non-Christians with the gospel. We had a great discussion about it, and he told a bunch of great stories too!
This week I encourage us to use the Stepping Stones Study Guide (pdf) as a summer devotional. I'm also reminded of how important, and fun, it can be to encourage each other to be evangelistic. We all have people in our lives we are seeking to reach with the gospel. As you use the steppingstones study guide this summer, also reach out to someone else at Living Hope, share the names of someone you're praying for, and look for opportunities to share Jesus as you pray for each other.
The Bible talks about serving others, especially the poor and needy, as an expression of the heart of God. This week, I share some scriptures, some thoughts, and excitement for our North Carolina Missions team. Be praying for them as they go on mission, and that even at home, we would see our friends and family, neighbors and coworkers as a mission field also. _______ North Carolina Mission Trip - June 16-22 Our LHC team will be traveling to North Carolina and partnering with Carolina Rebuilding Mission (CRM), a faith-based rebuilding ministry, to provide low-income homeowners with accessibility upgrades and repairs that target health and safety. This week I just wanted to share a passage of scripture that inspires me to love God and the gospel. Psalm 51. If you have a bible passage that you treasure, and inspires you to share your faith, I'd love to hear it. Email me at chris@findlivinghope.com
This week on the podcast we go deeper into how evangelism and the Gospel of Jesus, flows out of the stories of the Old Testament. Dan Steele, Brian Krug and I all share suggestions and encouragement to find Jesus all over the books of the Old Testament, even though Jesus wasn't born yet! It might just be one of the familiar stories of the Old Testaments that is the connection point you can use to point a friend, family member, neighbor, co-worker or classmate to God's mercy, love and unchanging character!
