Description

Faithfully living out the great commission to make disciples of Jesus can feel overwhelming. Where do I begin with my lost family, friends, and neighbors? What should I say? What if they ask questions I don’t know the answer to? If you struggle to share the gospel joyfully, consistently, and confidently? You’re not alone. Take a journey with us as we engage in practical discussions on relationship evangelism, one step at a time! Stepping Stones is a new podcast of Living Hope Church in Shrewsbury, PA, hosted by one of our elders, Chris Repp.

This week we wanted to re-share the 30 second testimonies from Easter. Based on the question, How has Christ changed your life?, they are a great way to boil down your testimony and have it ready to share with a FFNCC when the Lord opens a door. (We even have special guests who discuss what it was like preparing their testimonies for the Easter service.) Finally, we would love for you to prepare your own short answer to the question and either record it on your phone or find me at church and i will help you record it. Send it to me, chris@findlivinghope.com, and we will put it on a future podcast!
Hello Living Hope. This is the final week of our 4 part series, Living Hope Elders on Evangelism. IF you have any more questions, our elders would be happy to discuss them with you.
Hello Living Hope. This is week three of our 4 part series Living Hope Elders on Evangelism. This week George Rebstad shares his heart for the intersection of worship and evangelism. It's powerful, enjoy!

Hello Living Hope. This is week one of our 4 part series Living Hope Elders on Evangelism. We will kick off the series, hearing primarily from Tim Dance, our founding pastor. First, he explains what makes us an Elder led church. Then he talks about how he sees evangelism impacting his life and his role in leading the church into Jesus' great commission. It's very inspiring and insightful.
Hi Living Hope, this is the trailer for a series that will take the next 4 week. We are having a round table discussion amongst our 5 elders. They will both share their personal heart for evangelism, and discuss how they think evangelism relates to their specific area of ministry. Its a great encouragement to do evangelism AND a great way to get to know your church leadership team better too. Hope you enjoy and are inspired to share Jesus!
We work really hard on SteppingStones to help build trust and relationship with people. Which is good and loving. But it's not enough if we don't ever actually get to share the gospel message. So once you have permission and connection with someone, what do you say? Keith then Brian then Chris each give a concrete way to share the good news. Hope it helps you share the gospel with someone. Please let us know if you do chris@findlivinghope.com
In this episode, Keith shares another evangelism story, this time from the workplace (which for him was a green bean field) He boldly shared the gospel and only saw its impact a year later!
This episode is our first discussion with 5 people, and was a lot of fun! Crystal and Eddie and Mark and Lyndsey tell how signing up for T-ball changed their family and their lives. A great example of living on mission for Christ as a normal part of every day life.
In this episode, I mention 6 benefits I have experienced from doing evangelism. While evangelism is first about bringing Glory to God and loving others, it also benefits us too! In fact, I think God has designed evangelism to bless us as we go on mission, bringing His love to the world. I'd love to know any benefits you have experienced too. Email me chris@findlivinghope.com
This is our final In-Dept episode going back through the 8 stepping stones to evangelism. This one is Perseverance part 2. I would like us to pray and imagine what it would be like if a friend/family member/neighbor or co-worker accepts Jesus and is baptized. It can really help us to persevere, if God gives us faith to believe He will save them.. I discuss Romans 10:9-12 and Acts 2:38-41 so we can consider together, what God might do as we persevere in sharing Jesus with others.
This week is a devotional episode going more in-depth on the 7th stepping stone, Perseverance. Often, even after we share the gospel with someone, they will not understand or even react negatively. Especially with friends, family, neigbors and co-workers, it can take months or even years of faithful witness, before they are saved. That is OK! God is patient with us, and we should be patient with the people we love too. Gal. 6:9-10, 2 Peter 3:9 and 2 Tim 4:2 all show us how to love patiently and wait prayerfully until God brings a harvest!
During worship in December, Mike introduced a new song to us: Sing We the Song of Emmanuel. As he shared the lyrics, he both encouraged us to remember someone shared Jesus with us, and challenged us that now "It's our turn" to tell the world about Jesus. It hit me powerfully when he first shared it and i believe it's a word God wants Living Hope to hear again, and take to heart.
This week is another short devotional episode going back through the stepping stones. Today we discuss Gospel Confidence part 2. How do we, in a relational way, share the full and faithful gospel message. Why is it so important? The Roman road is a set of scriptures many have used to lay out the gospel for an unbeliever. The verses are Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9-10,13. We will read them and give practical tips to sharing the gospel, and look at why it is so important to share the message fully and faithfully in love for our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and classmates.
This week is another short devotional episode going back through the stepping stones. Today we discuss Gospel Confidence part 1. How do we go from friendly 'regular' conversations to deeper spiritual ones? We spend some time with Paul in Acts 17 looking at how he makes a general spiritual connection with the Greeks at Mars Hill in Athens. Then he tells them about Jesus.
This week is a short devotional episode in the series going back through the 8 original stepping stone steps. The step discussed is Gospel awareness part 2. We look at 1 Cor 2:1-5, John 4: 6-9 and Luke 10: 34-37 What is the role of the Spirit in our evangelism? And how do Jesus and the Good Samaritan, by simply paying attention, find gospel opportunities?
This week Chris interviews a life-long friend, Eric Fetters. Eric is a construction project manager. He tells a powerful story about how God used him to comfort a co-worker with empathy and the love of God. He did a great job of using the stepping stones path to build relationship and then when God opened a door of minstry, Eric showed the empathy he build through his own tragedy, to show the co-worker God's love.
This week Chris, Brian Krug and Eric Fetters discuss the theological concept of man made in the image of God. What does it mean? How does the theological concept impact our relationships and evangelism in practical ways?
This week is encouragment to share the best gift of Christmas, Jesus, this season with our neighbors, family, friends, co-workers, classmates. Personally, I'm praying that all the other good "stuff" of Christmas doesn't distract me from focusing on the best thing, the coming of God into the world in his only son Jesus. As i remind myself of that each day, i am then prepared to share it with others. Some practical ways are discussed like Smoothie Night at the YMCA Dec 12, Caroling in the community December 15th, Inviting others to our Christmas church services, and more... Merry Christmas Living Hope. Praying we have stories to share of how the best gift we gave, and recieved this Christmas is Jesus!
In this 3rd episode in our series Stepping Stones In-Depth. Today we look deeper into Gospel awareness. Esentially, it means being aware of the goodness of the gospel for me, and aware of the people all around me who need Jesus too. Here are some scriptures that go deeper into the concept.. John 4:35, Matt 5: 14-16, 2 Tim. 4: 1-5 and 2 Peter 3:15 Espeically with the holidays coming, be praying for awarness of the opportunites around us at LHC. And preparing our own hearts to give an answer for the hope in us. I'd love to hear your feedback chris@findlivinghope.com
