A little update:
I’m feeling a need to slow down lately. This is typical for me in the winter months and this year I want to actually honour that feeling instead of trying to fight it. I also want to give you meaningful letters that contain bits of my soul.
So, to help keep my brain healthy and the words flowing, I’m going to be reducing these letters to twice a month for a little while. I might add in a bonus piece now and then, but the regular schedule will be a bit lighter.
I hope that’s alright with you. As always, thanks for being here. 🖤

Overcoming the fear of being seen.

I remember the first time I heard a poem that made me cry.
Shane Koyzcan wandered into our high school gym and I was unprepared when he stood up on that tiny stage and poured my soul out of his mouth. He shared his poem “To This Day”, and for the first time in my life, I felt seen.

A toddler's perspective on existentialism.
I’ve been looking for a place to share the darker things. Long strands of feelings that sometimes comfort and sometimes scare the life out of me.
I was a little taller than my knees the first time I thought about something scary. Not the boogyman or the hopeful hand reaching from beneath my bed… Not the scary you’d expect from a wee thing learning to read.
