Back on the legal airwaves this time, Chris Greenwood aka Madera Verde brings his unique take on global music in this new series of exclusive shows. The man behind the music programming at Cargo, one of London's top music venues for the last 10 years, and before that Bar Rumba and Bacardi B Live tents at festivals across the UK. Chris was responsible for the dance music programme at The Big Chill Festival for last 2 years and is now launching a festival in Croatia, 3-5 September 2010: STOP MAKING SENSE, natch. There will be some live business, lots of exclusive tracks and some dj mixes recorded specially for the weekly show.

MAKE MINE A MADERA WITH A TWIST Continuing the occasional series where we ask musicians to make us a mix tape of what is currently floating their musical boat, this week Sao Paolo based Afrobeat outfit BIXIGA 70 do the honours. In the words of compiler/musician Mauricio Fleury: "I put two Brazilian tracks that were written by Pedro Sorongo, plus a Cumbia that influenced us a lot in the album, an Angolan Semba and our track 'Mil Vidas' from the last album in the end, so it's a little about Afro-Latin-Brazilian influences and a track that mixes all that”

PROPA-GHANDI MEETS MADERA X Joining MADERA today is the living legend that is AKI NAWAZ, free spirit, FUN-DA -MENTAL band leader and head honcho of the World Dance defining label NATION RECORDS. "Feel free to really grill drill kill me with questions if you wish - I enjoy it like that", he said. So we did. Sort of. With questions put forward by ex label mates NATACHA ATLAS, GUY MORLEY (Yam Yam), TIM WHELAN (Transglobal Underground) & NICK DUBBULAH (Dub Colossus), some cud was chewed, some sparks did fly, but most importantly, some home truths were delivered.
