Description
A single mother is defined as a woman who raises a child/children without a partner. A single mother can also be exhausted, self-sufficient, a hard worker, lonely, healing, and exuding so much pride in herself and her children.
While doing the daily balance of managing any and every responsibility for themselves and their families. Mothers are often told "Why don't you just relax?" Which has always left this host thinking “When the do I have time to relax?” I have a child to take care of, figure out how to pay all the bills on my own, keep my house clean, exercise, cook perfect nutritious meals and try to have some sort of social, dating life. Oh and get some sleep too. There's very little time to relax!
Stop Telling Me to Relax is a podcast community for single mothers to share their real stories about their journey through single motherhood. The persistent worries, heartbreak, major life changing decisions, financial strain and joys/triumphs. Stop Telling Me to Relax will aim to be the virtual space where we also discuss the hush hush stigma and isolation that single motherhood can carry. As well as the confidence, resiliency, wisdom and useful life skills. Nothing other than single motherhood can foster. Let’s chit- chat, laugh, cry and hopefully help each other feel less alone.

British singer Lily Allen has just released a scathing new album in the wake of her divorce from American actor David Harbour (Stranger Things, Thunderbolts). As the press and media dissect every lyric, a wave of shocking details about their marriage — including the dynamics behind closed doors — has been exposed to the public eye.
In this episode, we break down the rise and fall of Lily and David’s relationship: the whirlwind romance, the marriage, and the messy divorce now making headlines. We’ll explore why their uncoupling serves as a cautionary tale for single moms, the red flags many overlook, and why certain men are drawn to dating single mothers in the first place.

Native New Yorker Betsy Ronel, a Real Estate Broker with Coldwell Banker, shares her remarkable story of resilience, reinvention, and self-discovery. A former publicist for luxury fashion brands, Betsy left the fast-paced world of high fashion to become a stay-at-home mom after marrying and relocating to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Her life took an unexpected turn in 2011 when her husband passed away suddenly, leaving her a single mother to two young sons. In this candid and heartfelt conversation, Betsy opens up about navigating grief, the challenges of single parenting, and the mistakes and lessons along the way. She also reflects on rediscovering joy—close friendships, becoming an animal rescue advocate, appearing on a dating reality show, and embracing her inner “Swiftie Over Fifty.”
Betsy now channels her creativity and empathy into her own podcast, “Heavens to Betsy,” a space where she celebrates stories of resilience, humor, and community—the connections that remind us we’re never truly alone.

As my friend Molly will text me if she doesn't hear from me after a couple of weeks, "WELFARE CHECK"
Yes, it has been awhile, since this podcast has dropped an episode. Who would have thought that a single Mom would get so busy that she doesn't have time pay attention to anything else besides her first priorities?
In Episode 7, I check in & discuss the reasons why the podcast went dark for little bit. How a recent trip to Las Vegas saved my mental health, wellbeing and some other truthful tidbits about single parenting that I hope will help other single mothers feel better.
