On the StoryTellers Live podcast, everyday women share personal stories of the hope found in Jesus Christ.  From stories about sorrow and suffering to redemption and joy, these real life encounters with the Lord reveal what God can do when we trust Him with the details of our lives.   Listen in each Wednesday and the first Mondays of the month, and get ready for your faith to increase, for freedom in Christ to be found, and for your perspective to be shifted towards eternity!

Listen as she shares a hard but happy retelling of finding the Lord—in none other than a college biology class.   This story of curiosity and conversion starts with Lisa’s Jewish beginnings, and includes a childhood touched by tremendous trauma: alcoholism, addiction, divorce, and loss.   In her dysfunctional family and dysfunctional life, Lisa longed to be known. Yet when she met Jesus, she discovered her name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and being known by Him was all she needed.   In this episode, you will learn: - God is always pursuing you and longs for you to have a relationship with Him. - You are intimately known by God. There are countless verses in the Bible reminding us that God alone is the great Provider, able to meet our needs even in the most unexpected circumstances. Olga Kukushkina, who shared her story at our Homewood, Alabama live gathering a few months ago, encourages us to rest in the truth of these verses as well as the sustaining love of our Heavenly Father, who sees all and is in all.   Be amazed as Olga recounts the details in which God miraculously made a way for her and her family to come to America after Russian tanks and troops took over her hometown in Kherson, Ukraine. This story is a beautiful illustration depicting the hands and feet of Christ working through His people to bring peace and comfort in the reality of war and chaos.   IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN:   - There is a time for everything… A time for war and a time for peace. Being called by God to do something you feel ill-equipped to do can be somewhat of a frightening place to be. That is where Katie Lassiter, our storyteller from our Montgomery, Alabama community group, found herself when her husband approached her about becoming a foster family.   Katie was adamant she could not do it as she didn’t think she was mentally strong enough.  But, as you will see in her story, when God calls you to something, He will equip you with the strength and the resources you need.    What are you being called to today? Katie’s story is going to encourage you to take a step towards that calling even if you feel unprepared because the Lord will indeed empower you.   IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN: - God’s plan is always better than your plan. - If you feel God is calling you to something, just take one step and let Him lead. - God’s grace is sufficient for you in your weakness. All of us desire to follow God’s calling on our lives - living on purpose and for purpose. However, the world and its enticements can leave us searching for fulfillment in all the wrong places.   Today’s storyteller, Morgan Tyner, from our community group in Fairhope, Alabama, shares her journey of following what she thought was God’s plan for her life as a social media influencer, only to find herself full of anxiety, fear, and numbness.  It was in her loneliness that God met Morgan through the simple act of breathing and led her in a totally different direction and purpose in life.  This story will leave you longing to inhale the Lord’s presence and exhale the noise of the world.   IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN: - Your life is more about the legacy you leave than the happiness you experience. - God’s calling on your life can change, but He never does. - The simple act of breathing mimics the name of God. Lewis.   Jackie Newell, from our community group in Tupelo, Mississippi, grew up in church and knew from an early age that Jesus was her Savior. However, it wasn’t until she experienced devastating tragedy and loss that God became real to her as she immersed herself in Scripture and was faced with the fact that she either believed God’s Word or she didn’t. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.” James 1:2   Alice Churnock, from our Vestavia, Alabama community group, shares her story of suffering from a bleeding disorder for thirty years, which stamped shame and embarrassment on her soul and ultimately led her to intense anger with God as the complications from her disorder led her to difficulties having children.    However, after experiencing an unexpected and abrupt miscarriage, God met Alice, as only a loving and good Father can, and brought her to a deeper faith and ultimately a healed body.  This story will encourage you to know that God can handle your anger and questions, but you must also be ready to listen for His answers.    IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN:  - God uses pain and trauma to grow your faith more than He uses the blessings He has given you - the blessings are often a byproduct of the pain.  - God is relational, and in a relationship, there is speaking AND listening by BOTH parties.  - Joy is an inner attitude regardless of your circumstances.   Links:   Covenant Counseling   “One Touch“ by Nicole C. When you deal with a chronic illness, it’s easy to question God and wonder if He even sees you. Everyone around goes on with their lives while you are left struggling with how to live each day.   This is exactly what today’s storyteller, Sheryl Trawick, from our Fairhope, Alabama community, experienced after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, an autoimmune disorder where her body was attacking her peripheral nervous system (the control center of her body’s communication system).    However, instead of staying stuck in her thoughts of despair, Sheryl decided to pour herself into God - seeking healing verses of Scripture to speak over her body. Through a whisper from the Lord, her faith began to shift, and a miracle of healing began to happen. May is Brain Cancer Awareness month, and today’s storyteller pays tribute to this disease that affects more than 25,000 people annually.   Emily Lombardo, who shared at our Trussville, Alabama live gathering, recounts her journey of walking alongside her husband as he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. In this heartfelt story, Emily helps us see the divine goodness of our Father as she details the ways in which her community showed up for her and her family as the hands and feet of Christ.
