This week’s episode talks about Self-Care and what the bible says about it and why it is so important…not only for our spiritual well-being, but also for our emotional and physical health. How can we take care of our babies if we ourselves are not taken care of?
Grace-based parenting attempts to parent children the way God parents us — by grace. It makes sense that if God leads us by grace we should lead our children by grace. Scriptures state that grace teaches, graces protect, grace encourages, and grace redeems. Grace even disciplines and corrects. Grace-based parenting does not mean we let our children do whatever they want to do. It doesn’t mean there are no rules. It means being understanding and forgiving quickly. Let’s face it, we all struggle with it especially on the days when we are feeling overwhelmed. Here we talk about some strategies that have helped us along this journey.
Gratitude is the quality of being thankful. We are always so thankful during the good times...time with family and friends, Thanksgiving, Christmas...but what about when we are going through rough waters? In this podcast we talk precisely that! God has a plan for our pain and hurt. I want to thank him for it in advance because I know that he is walking through it with me.
Friendship is defined as a state of mutual trust and support. We all know how important it is to have a good network of friends. In this podcast, you get to listen in on a conversation over coffee with Gina and Michelle. It is so important, as women and mothers, to have someone that we can trust and that will support us emotionally and especially through prayer. If you need prayer and support, please don't hesitate to email us at strengthforsinglemoms@gmail.com or join our private Facebook page "Strength for Single Moms Podcast Group."
This podcast is about the gifts that God gives us, even when we think we may not be worthy of them and the power of prayer and having faith in God.
The word “joy” means a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. What happens when joy leaves our heart? Don’t be discouraged! We have all been there and in this podcast, Pam tells her story.
Friendships have a huge impact on your health and happiness. Good friends relieve stress, provide comfort and joy, prevent loneliness and isolation, and even strengthen your physical health. But close friendships don’t just happen. Many of us struggle to meet people and develop quality connections. Whatever your age or circumstances, though, it’s never too late to make new friends, reconnect with old ones, and greatly improve your social life, emotional health, and overall well-being.
Prayer and fasting is defined as voluntarily going without food in order to focus on prayer and fellowship with God. Prayer and fasting often go hand in hand, but this is not always the case. You can pray without fasting, and fast without prayer. It is when these two activities are combined and dedicated to God's glory that they reach their full effectiveness. Having a dedicated time of prayer and fasting is not a way of manipulating God into doing what you desire. Rather, it is simply forcing yourself to focus and rely on God for the strength, provision, and wisdom you need.
Forgiveness is something so hard that we all struggle with. This podcast is a follow up to the Forgiveness podcast, in the form of biblical teaching. It’s great to hear journeys of forgiveness, because they show us grace in action, but what does God say about it?
We have all been hurt in one capacity or another by loved ones, co-workers...or anyone we come in contact with. Forgiving is one of the hardest things to do, but SO freeing. Most importantly, God requires us to forgive. This is a conversation between Gina Kemp and Nancy Diaz about Nancy's forgiveness journey.
Samantha Burns-Reid is our resident finance guru. In this podcast, she shares her tips and tricks on managing finances, couponing and anything that can help stretch your paycheck.
Have you ever thought of the power behind your words? Have you ever heard someone say "don't speak that into existence?" Listen to a powerful word from Gina Kemp about how our words, speech and thoughts affect our outcomes.
Do you ever feel inadequate? Listen to what God does in your life when you think you are.
