It seemed very timely to be talking to the brilliant Iain James as he was a co-writer of the Christmas classic "One More Sleep" by Leona Lewis which has just been awarded the most streamed Christmas song of the 21st Century! So we talk about that as well as being part of the writing process for some absolute gems including "Shout Out To My Ex' for Little Mix , "Read All About It" by Professor Green and Emile Sande and songs with Craig David, Kylie , James Morrison ,Sugababes and more. He also gives some superb advice for new songwriters on how to get noticed and talks about his time as vocal coach for The X Factor and how his time in boyband Triple 8 helped him prepare the future stars of it including One Direction. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did and please discover more episodes if you have time. Thanks so much for listening and a very Merry Christmas 🎄
After the perplexing success of last years look back through Dave Seaman's Filofax prompting our somewhat distant recollections of what we actually did in the studio that year we decided to go back in time again. 1995 was such an incredible year for us including the release of Take Thats" Nobody Else" album and "Never Forget" single and some of our favourite remixes ever including "Where Is The Feeling" by Kylie and "Your Loving Arms" by Billie Ray Martin. In amidst this we also discovered that Dave had his kitchen done. So if you feel this is the sort of thing you might enjoy then here we are , I can't apologise enough but from the amount of listeners to last year it appears some people seem to enjoy it. Thanks for listening and please discover other episodes all streaming now.
Paul Whalley is partly responsible for not only the best album of the year but one of the best of the decade, in my opinion with Grace Davies . From starting out as a studio assistant he’s spent the last 10 years crafting a production and writing style that is so beautifully refreshing and blisteringly brave working with new and established artists I simply had to chat to him about everything that has got him this far and some handy tips for the creative process. https://www.instagram.com/paulwhalley/All episodes streaming now https://linktr.ee/suchagoodfeelingpodcastThanks for listening ❤️
The second part of my catch up with Dave Seaman going through his 1994 Filofax to see if it jogs any memories of the fun we had whilst being lucky enough to make records with Kylie, Take That, Lulu, M People, Sting and many more. My guest today is the incomparable, the beautiful and the divine Tessa Niles who has featured as a backing singer on countless hits and has performed on stages with the the most iconic artists in the world including David Bowie, Robbie Williams, , The Police , Trevor Horn, Pet Shop Boys, Tina Turner Kylie and at one of her first ever shows, Live Aid.
She recently published her autobiography “Backtrack” to incredible critical acclaim and with huge success. I’ve been blessed to know her professionally and personally for more years than either of us care to remember and it was so lovely to have this catch up in London’s glittering West End. Hope you enjoy!

Anya Jones epitomises the reason for this podcast in that she is one of the only people I know to successfully make the transition from A&R where at Syco she was instrumental in up 120 Million sales including for Little Mix, Susan Boyle and Ella Henderson to a world class songwriter currently enjoying success with Kylie, Birdy. Dylan, Benjamin Ingrosso , Tom Grennan and Rita Ora amongst others . Her emotional connection to music is one of many reasons why I've always adored her and you'll hear it so many examples of it throughout this wonderful episode.

On a recent rummage through his loft my partner in Brothers In Rhythm Dave Seaman found his old Filofax so to celebrate a few 30th Anniversaries for us this year we decided to open it up and discuss the contents of our professional engagements in the diary within resulting in differing levels of recollection ! Part One takes us through to June 1994 including productions and remixes with Kylie, Take That, Charvhoni ,The Eurythmics and an unforgettable moment with Lulu. Hope you enjoy!
Toby Alington is an award winning live sound engineer who this year is celebrating mixing his 30th Brit Awards for television alongside working with everyone from Coldplay, Adele , Take That and Kylie on their filmed live shows. His exquisite skill of delivering the most exciting live sound on multi artists shows whilst all the time executing an almost zen like modicum of cool has resulted in over 40 years of the biggest artists in the world trusting him. Here he talks about the process of translating the live concert experience sonically on filmed shows and the people that helped him along the way.
Please follow/like the podcast to hear more incredible stories about the moments that changed everything for truly wonderful people . Thanks for listening.
Joanna Woodward has without doubt one of the finest female voices I’ve ever worked with , on top of that she is an established West End leading lady with roles in " The Time Travellers Wife" and "Beautiful" amongst others , a cabaret legend and also a bonafide superhero. Her incredible honesty in opening up about mental health and personal family situations has helped so many people and above it all she continually shines , brighter than ever to the complete wonder and joy of every audience member lucky enough to be watching her.
I hope you enjoy it and if you do please follow/like the podcast to hear all previous episodes and make sure you don't miss out on the amazing ones to come. Thank you for listening.
Martyn Ware is one of the true pioneers of electronic music both as a founding member of The Human League , Heaven 17 and British Electric Foundation. He’s also a highly respected producer with credits including Tina Turner, Terence Trent D'arby and Erasure and most recently a revered podcaster with his brilliant “Electronically Yours” series. I've admired his work tremendously from an early age discovering the League's early work like "Being Boiled", Dave Seaman and I remixed "Temptation" as Brothers In Rhythm in the 90s and we were lucky enough to have Heaven 17 perform at 80s Classical recently so this was such an honour for me to talk to him. Hope you enjoy.

Todays guest is without doubt one of the most original songwriters of her generation , with a career spanning dancer, artist, iconic songwriter with Xenomania for artists including Girls Aloud, Sugababes and Pet Shop Boys and now musical theatre writer with the incredible Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World opening later this year , This makes her the most perfect person to talk about the moments that made all that possible. So please welcome , pop royalty , Miranda Cooper.
Todays guest is the brilliant Katy Richardson. a truly incredible musical supervisor and musical director for some of the biggest theatre shows including the award winning Bonnie & Clyde, the incredible Hope Theatre version of “Rent”, "Jersey Boys" and of course the global phenonemon that is "Six The Musical". I’m also lucky enough to have her working with me on the new Jerry Mitchell show “Becoming Nancy” (written by Terry Ronald). Its a fascinating chat talking about her process, the small events that shaped everything for her , the slowly changing landscape of equal representation of genders within theatre and a must have hint for any musicians wanting to break into either West End or touring pop bands. Really hope you enjoy this as much as we did chatting.

After being critically acclaimed and universally loved as one of the UK's finest soul voices and following on from a Grammy nominated David Foster production duetting with Celine Dion on 'When I Fall In Love" from "Sleepless In Seattle" Clive Griffin withdrew from being an artist. 30 years later he's back to tell his story and celebrating his three incredible albums finally available on all streaming platforms now. From humble beginnings at stage school , through being discovered by maestro Richard Niles and onto a catalogue of much loved material including the classic "I'll Be Waiting". Clive talks about his love of incredible musicians , supporting Eric Clapton, finding audio treasures in his loft (soon to be released) , his struggles but most of all his joy and love of everything he achieved. As well as producing his third album for Sony, he's my truly wonderful friend and I hope you enjoy listening to him talk as much as we did recording this.

As always I love chatting to producers and Jon Shave has made some of my absolute favourite records including "The Show" by "Girls Aloud" and "On A Mission" by Gabriella Cilmi. He is a Grammy nominated songwriter and producer who started out as part of the hugely successful Xenomania team working with artists including Girls Aloud and The Sugababes before joining with George Astasio and Jason Pebworth to form the production team The Invisible Men working with everyone from Little Mix and Jessie J to Britney Spears , Ellie Goulding and many more including current singles for Rita Ora and Becky Hill.

With over 500 million streams on Spotify, 2 UK numbers 1s and 3 UK Top 10 hits.plus one grammy nomination, Kelli-Leigh is an artist, a creative , a label owner but above all possesses one of the finest voices this country has ever produced. From singing backing vocals for Leona Lewis, Adele and Jessie J through to being the voice of hits including "I Got U" with Duke Dumont and "More Than Friends' with James Hype alongside her superb original material all released independently through her own label, KL is one of the hardest working people I know.
Here's she talks through where that drive comes from including being physically stopped momentarily by a car accident which eventually allowed her the time to consider her future and the pure joy derived from her Christmas EP released this week including what I believe to be a song that is up there with Leona and Mariah "Underneath The Tree' and new single "Unwrap My Heart" which is equally magical.
