In His grace and wisdom God determines to bring judgement on Sodom and Gomorrah. He reveals his plan to Abraham. Abraham pleads for the cities and for his nephew Lot. Although God brings judgement he also remembers Abraham and saves Lot.
Because of his wickedness God destroys man, but He remembers His promise to Adam and Eve. He saves Noah and through him sends a Savior.
Saul sees the Lord on the way to Damascus. By the power of His word the Lord opens Saul’s heart. Learning his sin and God’s grace Paul joyful accepts suffering for the sake of the Lord.
Acts 6 and 7 The church in Jerusalem chooses 7 men to lead the church. Stephen witnesses to the Sanhedrin. Stephen becomes the first martyr.
Acts 3 Peter and John go to the temple to pray. Along the way they heal a lame man. They are persecuted because of this but rejoice in the Lord. The following kids song tells the whole story:
Acts 2:1-12 God sends the Holy Spirit to the disciples gathered in Jerusalem. Filled with the Holy Spirit the disciples proclaim Christ and the forgiveness of sins in many different languages.
Jesus appears to his disciples and calls them again to leave behind fishing and become fishers of men. He reaffirms his love to Peter as well assuring him of forgiveness.
Thomas doubts, but Jesus in his mercy appears to strength Thomas faith. Having received the Holy Spirit Thomas and the remaining disciples preach God’s word to the ends of the earth.
Before his death Jesus gives us the Lord’s Supper. It is a fulfillment of the passover. It is a reminder of his death. It is a looking forward to the feast of the Lamb. It is a recieving and a participation with his death.
Evil men attempt to destroy Daniel but the Lord is taking care of him.
God not only delivers the men but walks with them in the fire.
God works through the simple things of this world. God’s power is hidden in water and word and promise. Through these things God cleanses and heals bringing his salvation to men.
We are all subject to death because of our sin. Yet in Christ death is conquered and his people are taken to heaven.
