After live-streaming the final race we couldn't think of a better way to wrap up the season pod-wise than by regrouping with the usual suspects for another reflection on the year that was, or at least the year that could have been.

Let's friggen gooo, the championship is cooking like a dad at a barbecue and it feels like every race only makes things spicier. But are Piastri's chances really as bad as they seem? Why did the Mexican race organisers criticise Lawson's driving, and which drivers will get invited to Leclerc's upcoming wedding and who got snubbed.
242. Is Piastri Cooked?

What surprises does the championship have in store for us, what would the McLaren drivers do in the dying races if the championship is on the line and team orders come into effect, Carlos Sainz is appealing... very appealing, and we cast judgement on the latest signings as a new entrant resurrects the dregs of the driver market.
With a bit of news around and a new bumper feature we squeeze everything out of the summer break and catch up on some film recommendations for good measure.
240. Brad Pitt: The Movie

240. Brad Pitt: The Movie

We cover all the drama from Silverstone, the trajectory of Piastri and Norris, dump magnums of champagne on Hulkenberg and announce his crowned Prince of the UK - because, surprise, we can do that now. Then... hoo boy... then we go deep into the F1 Movie, including a Superlicence guaranteed spoiler-free zone, then we make it very clear when we take things to the SPOILER ZONE, and somehow we not only go almost as long as the movie itself but arguably offer more entertainment.
Of-course we talk about Max Verstappen but we also manage to cover how we'd save Monaco, the sneaky rookie of the year form of Isack Hadjar and quite a bit more to be honest.
We get all the way around our good boy Oscar Piastri (who might be maybe charging toward a drivers' championship?), we debate whether Ferrari are improving, check in on Yuki and the latest TV eventage.
We pour one out for Eddie Jordan, cover every angle on Yuki Tsunoda's new main character energy, reflect on the Australian and Chinese Grands Prix and the fortunes of the rookies first showings.
We're back to recap the off-season (tl;dr you didn't miss much), preview the big season opener in Albert Park, refashion an F1 spotter's guide in our trademark "loose" fashion and trade film recommendations after Piastri's namesake awards.
A wild and unpredictable season deserves as equally wild and unpredictable awards show, and since the FIA gala failed once again to rise to the moment we came together with F1 podcast bretheren Box of Neutrals for our annual tribute to the best of times and blurst of times that was F1 season 2024.
In customary style we reflect on Max Verstappen's Drivers' Championship, stuntcast drivers for the incoming GM Cadillac, hypothesise the fortunes of the discarded drivers from the 2024 grid and consider adding the podcast theme to our workout mixes.
The nickname so good we couldn't possibly give it away in the show title. Of-course you come to Superlicense for the hottest takes about the NOR/VER/FIA battle, but we're giving you so much more. You want insights into HAAS's resurgence? Done. Role-playing the highs and lows of Sonny Hayes and APX GP? Sure. We'll even check in on Megalopolis (spoiler: we still haven't seen it). AND some F1 talk, you're welcome.
In the hope of scoring some cultural exchange credits Rod gets to know Dan and Patrick from the Midfield Podcast, including their origin story, the status of Formula 1 in the US and of-course the ultimate verdict on who IS and ISN'T "Midfield".
We pour one out for the King of Vibes, ask "where to" fo Red Bull in the post-Newey era, pick sides in the sweargate controversy, establish a new segment and resurrect a vintage one.
231. A real Monza Miracle

231. A real Monza Miracle

2024-09-0301:18:09

We grant ourselves a moment to enjoy the scenes THE SCENES of Leclerc delivering a home win for the Tifosi at Monza, before turning focus to McLaren's management of their drivers. To boot it home we recap the driver market as the final pieces fall into place and offer some bold predictions for how the year will play out.
On top of chucking back some of Uncle Dan's dodgy plonk, we offer our hottest takes on the Piastri vs Norris controversy from Hungary, question Max's mindset, specualate on the remainder of the drivers seats for 2025 and much more.
It's brilliant to bring back an old favourite segment, F1 Chats! And with whomst better to do the chatting than Stuart "Codders" Codling who, in a total stroke of luck and unbelievable timing, has a beautiful book launching imminently about F1's second longest running team.
Kmag/Ocon lose their heads, Red Bull off the pace, and who is the Kendrick and who is Drake in the Steiner/Haas face-off?

With Alonso re-signing at Aston Martin and Sainz hunting for a new place to park his ass we share our best guesses on where he'll go, as well as review the 2025 calendar, the sorry state of Williams, and less!
