First a brief introduction into the topic and then some short interviews with participants of the conference. What is effective altruism?Effective altruism is a philosophy and social movement that has the goal to use scientific data to find the most effective ways to create benefits for others. To use one example: an often recommended charity in the contact of effective altruism is the against malaria foundation which works on the cause to protect people from malaria. For every about 4 USD donated they will by and distribute a mosquito net, and statistically for every 4000 EUR donated, they will prevent one person’s death from malaria. What is the EA global conference London?Part of an annual series of effective altruism conferences, in 2017 there was one in San Francisco, Boston and the one I visited in London. With about 500 participants and maybe 50 speakers, presentation and workshops.Links:Givingwhatwecan.orgGivewell.orghttps://80000hours.org/Book: Doing go better by  Will MasAskillListen to the interview here:  https://www.spreaker.com/user/9784086/effective-altruism-global-conference-london-2017Can you help us to grow our podcast? Please take 3 minutes of your time and leave a review about our podcast on Itunes, this is of great help for us.
