This episode marks the first time we've ever discussed a song not found on a Taylor Swift album! Of course, Renegade was still written by Taylor, however it was featured on an album by Big Red Machine in 2021. Naturally, this prompts quite the discussion as it suggests perhaps Taylor wasn't confident in sharing the story of Renegade as her own. We theorize that Renegade is a deeply personal song to Taylor about her own struggle in a relationship. With themes of anxiety, mental illness, and toxicity within a relationship, this episode hits heavy and hard.
