Brent and Chris also discuss how Syracuse is going to need to adjust its transfer portal strategy
Finally, Mike McAllister of 247 Sports updates Axe on how SU will close out one of its highest-rated recruiting classes in years, why Fran Brown has been touting that class and if there are any recruiting commits for Syracuse to flip or that could be flipped from Syracuse to another school.

Brent Axe and Javon Edmonds recap Syracuse football's 27-10 loss to North Carolina at the JMA Dome on Halloween night.

Axe and Edmonds discuss the strange hesitancy of SU to allow Luke Carney to throw the ball, what offensive veterans must be thinking with an offense stuck in neutral and the continued tackling issues and breakdowns on defense.

Brent Axe and Javon Edmonds break down Syracuse football's 41-16 loss to Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
Will SU fans hang in there for the last four games of the season or just move on to basketball?
Brent and Javon discuss how SU had its chances early in the game with the ball on the 1-yard line off a Georgia Tech fumble and some other Yellow Jackets mistakes but just couldn't take advantage.
While QB Rickie Collins did not throw any interceptions and showed improved use of his legs, he still failed to some any kind of consistency in generating offense when SU needed it. Is he truly the only option in the SU QB room?
Axe and Edmonds also discuss the Orange defense taking a big step back after showing a new attitude in the prior 2 games in allowing GT QB Haynes King to throw for over 300 yards with 5 touchdowns (3 passing, 2 rushing).

On the latest episode of Syracuse Sports, Brent Axe discusses how the Syracuse football season has entered a weird space where there is five games to go in 2025, but all attention already seems to be shifting to next year if SU can't get its QB situation straightened out.
That noted, there are still games to be played this year and the Orange have a trip to No.7 Georgia Tech on Saturday on tap. Chad Bishop of the Atlanta-Journal Constitution joins Brent to discuss how Brent Key has built the Yellow Jackets into an ACC contender, how QB Haynes King has been the MVP of the ACC this season and if Georgia Tech has any weak points SU can attack.
Bishop also tells Axe what Syracuse basketball is getting in new point guard Naithan George, who transferred to the Orange from Georgia Tech.

Brent Axe and Chris Carlson recap Syracuse football's 30-13 loss to Pittsburgh at the JMA Dome
Brent and Chris discuss the QB shuffle SU played with Rickie Collins and Luke Carney and how the struggles at the QB position and SU's inability to run a functional offense were costly against Pitt and will be going forward.
Will fans hang around for five more games in what is looking more and more like a developmental season for the Orange, now 3-4 with five games to go?
Brent and Chris also discuss Fran Brown's honest admission of "one of the worst things that I’ve done" and how a terrific effort by the SU defense was wasted against Pitt.

Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown is sticking with Rickie Collins as his starting quarterback out of the Orange's bye week against Pittsburgh.
Can Collins improve from generating nearly 19 points fewer against Power-Four competition for the Orange offense?
According to Pro Football Focus, Collins has a turnover-worthy play percentage of 7.5 percent this season, which means that 7.5 percent of his drop backs this season have resulted in plays were likely to end in a turnover.
That is the worst rate in the country among quarterbacks who have at least 100 drop backs this season.
Despite playing in just four games and only starting two, Collins is tied for 19th in the country with five interceptions, according to PFF.
Brent Axe discusses that and how Fran Brown handled a question about his name coming up for bigger jobs (in this case Penn State) at a recent press conference.
Axe also chats with Chris Peak from Panther Lair to get a preview of the Pitt Panthers squad that comes to the JMA Dome on Saturday. Peak discusses how the Panthers made a significant quarterback change and how it has changed the trajectory of its season, the SU-Pitt series and what (if anything) SU can exploit in a matchup they come into as 10.5-point underdogs.

Noah Eagle has rapidly ascended to a position as one of America's best play-by-play broadcasters. Eagle, 28, has broadcasted from the Olympics, called a Super Bowl for Nickelodeon, served as the play-by-play voice of the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets and calls Big Ten Football for NBC Sports.
Eagle, a 2019 graduate of Syracuse University is about to step into one of the biggest gigs of his career as a primary play-by-play voice for the NBA on NBC.
Eagle and Brent Axe discussed the task of mixing nostalgia (we all remember that NBC 'Roundball Rock' theme song!) with the current bells and whistles available in modern broadcasting.
Axe and Eagle also discuss what role Carmelo Anthony will play on NBC's NBA coverage, the lessons he took from Mike Tirico that he'll now get to employ along with Tirico on NBC, if calling Big 10 college football still feels like college sports in the NIL/transfer portal era and some 2025-26 NBA storylines.
