Description

THE RIOPY PODCAST - TUNE YOUR MIND features Jean-Philippe RIOPY, a world renowned composer, performer, and cinematic modern-classical pianist.

Across this podcast series, we’ll talk about creativity, resilience, mental health, using music as a tool for healing and focus and trace RIOPY’s extraordinary journeys.

As a Steinway & Sons artist, he is a member of the world’s most revered pianists. But while his music exudes calm, clarity, and cinematic beauty, his story begins in a very different place. Born in rural France, RIOPY grew up in a repressive cult environment, isolated from the outside world. He found escape in sound. With no formal training and no access to scores, he began composing instinctively, by ear. With 4 albums since 2017 - and another on the way - multiple EPs, and over one billion streams globally, RIOPY’s sound bridges modern classical minimalism, cinematic landscape and ambient wellness music.

RIOPY’s 2019 album Tree of Light introduced mainstream audiences to his distinctive style. From that album, the track “UKIYO” earned a RIAA Gold certification. In 2023, RIOPY collaborated with Lana Del Rey on her 2023 Grammy-nominated album. In addition to his own releases, RIOPY has scored original music for numerous films, including the trailers for Oscar–winning films like The Danish Girl and The Shape of Water. His compositions have powered global media campaigns for brands such as Bentley, Mercedes, Peugeot, IKEA, Armani, and Samsung.

There have been meditation-training and neuroscience projects, collabs with the likes of Calm and Peloton, and University academic research projects… much of this led to the Tune Your Mind: neuroscience-inspired sound design, blending drones and binaural beats.

And now, RIOPY hosts this exclusive podcast series to share the story behind the music, and the philosophies that shape his art. And if you're new to his music, there'll be all kinds of tasters on the way.

This is the story - and the sound - of RIOPY.
